who owns slough town fc

i dont want to open up a can of worms but i was reading the burnham fc message board where they were discussing a slough burnham merger and someone implied there is a lot of secrecy at stfc and implied the club owned a lot of money to someone and that someone might sell out the club to burnham, not knowing much about the history of stfc i wondered what this all meant, the guy said if sloughs very loyal fans couldnt solve the secrecy of stfc then noone could.

please could someone fill in the details for me.he also said the fans may run the club and start again at the bottom.

Don't read too much into it, amberblue is coming in towards the end of the tele programme and has to catch up! Basically a guy at Burnham thought it would be an easy matter, (probably stirring)if STFC went under, for Burnham, if they got promoted, to do a "take over" so Slough fans would support the merged team, to build up support.

It was pointed out that this was a simplistic assumption because Slough Fans have made it clear that they are proud of STFC and its history and would not automatically support some merged entity, because they just want to get their team back into Slough and on an even financial keel. It was suggested that those who thought it was a good idea should read this forum to see what Slough Fans really felt, rather than making assumptions.

It was also pointed out that the STFC ownership and financial situation are complex and such a suggestion is unlikely to be straight forward, even if the will WAS there amongst the Club Management, (of which there is no evidence.)

In any case, in that event, many Slough fans have said on this forum they would rather start again from the bottom, than lose the club's identity in a merger.

Interesting questions, but they have been debated before.....

dont worry theres no need to be suspicious,Andrew is right im doing catch up having moved back into the area and only starting to watch slough again,i just hope there will be a safe future for stfc without merger or having to start lower down.

I'm also cynical, despite his protests to the contrary, Wasn't amberblue the one who also started the Eton Wick merger thread? Hidden agenda for someone?

Sorry you're offended amberblue. Yes this is a discussion board, but it has often been hijacked by shitstirrers. If your's was an innocent observation I apologise, but getting pissed off with naff rumours starting up every two minutes.

thats okay no appology needed, it was an innocent observation, i did hear a lot of rumours and i suppose its better not to listen to gossip, i just enjoy following the rebels after a long break away, and im totally against any merger (just to set the record straight, my grandad first took to to see the slough town when i was young and its good to be back smile
