Very good it was too.

 

Roly was on there from the ground along Daish fron Fleet Leisure. I like the way they set it up as well giving people the feel that Wembley is just around the corner so come along and support us to get us there.

 

People don't think of it like that though, they just feel that if we get to Wembley then they'll go.

It was a very interesting peice, well placed so as it was in the break of Hollyoaks wink

 

They also interviewed people in the town about what they thought of the club, indicating a negative response. It will be interesting to see the publics reaction to this.

I found the apathy amonst those who were interviewed in the street of intrest.

 

Proves we need to raise our profile.

 

Also the incentive tomorrow was well publicised. Problem is that two people have called me and asked for my free ticket for thursday.No intetion of them attending tomorrow. But I have someone who visits 4 or 5 times a year so will pass it to him.

Half the job is done, people do want to come along. Trouble is getting them to pay for it.

 

There seems to be the misconception on the forum and amongst other Fleet supporters that people don't know we're here. They know they just don't want to come. Now we know that they do want to come it's a matter of making it so interesting to them that if people tell them they can't have freebies then they decide to come anyway.

 

A difficult task but we have done half the work.

I agree, people will go to the northwich game for nothing and not go to the next game.

why is it you guys think that everybody in gravesend should want to go and see the fleet, lots of people will go to all sorts of things if its free. As an example i would go to brands hatch and watch car racing if i had a free ticket, but pay! no way. i hope the extra people who come along are the ones who have been before and who will be surprised by the improvement in football since they came last.I also thought the 2 for 1 was to help our finances as we have 3 home games in 8 days.

The only way they can get to the Northwich game for free is if they get a ticket by coming to the Southport game. They can't just turn up for nothing and expect to get in for free unless they have been giving a ticket by turning up at the Southport match.

I quite agree. Some of the negativity regards to this statement is that we have 90,000 people living in Gravesend yet only 1,000 of them come through the gates. Now funnilly enough I think this is rather good. What other activity in the area gets that sort of interest from the towns people? But what people fail to notice is that we will never get all 90,000 people interested in the Fleet and neither should it be our goal to. Instead we do have to get the people down that are interested. If we get 4,000 tomorrow, we won't but if we do, then at least we know that they have a passing interest.

I take you point about Brands Hatch, personally I wouldn't take up such an offer but each to his own, but if people find it interesting enough hopefully they'll come again and pay the full price.
