no mate. i think cowley is probably one of the best players in the league along with steve king. golby and tiffin good players. i rate ricky holmes as class.

but i think there are better goalkeepers in the league then hards. hornchurch had burbridge and holland who are both class players and now playing for billericay top of ryman prem.

no danny heale who at concord has over 30 goals - no brentwood striker has anywhere near that. top scorer is nicky cowley with 20 but probably 10 of them are pens.

i would say the essex senior league is not as strong this season as it was last season.

last season you had waltham abbey, burnham, tilbury and barkingside all competing for the title but hornchurch romped it.

this year there was only ever one side in it.

Still very much in the melting post I gather from one of our League Chairman's earlier postings.

However, the composition of next season's ESL is dependent on what comes of a meeting at FA HQ which, if my memory serves me correctly, was due to be held yesterday.

No doubt we will all learn what is in store for us for the 2007/8 season very shortly and whether or not the 12 league level 5 proposed reorganisation will take effect for the next or the 2008/9 seasons.

I suspect in view of the time that it has taken to get the northern part of level 4 sorted out it is more likely to be the latter option now.

But one never knows!

looking at last years fixtures hornchurch wrapped up the title with 6 games to go and at the beginning of march.

brentwood can wrap it up on monday i believe if results go their way. but that will mean they have done it with only 3 to go.
