That's not the board I was talking about!

I was referring to the board of directors.

As for the advertising boards: they, indeed, display the name Oxford United. It probably won't have the same affect when it says Hayes next season.

Oh.

Well there's Gibbo. And Mrs Gibbo. And the Chairman of Vice, Alasdair McMillin. And the Happy Snapper. And that chap from William Verry Ltd, Greg Healy, the Finance Director.

I heard that Bill Chippington resigned last week but I have yet to see confirmation on the Official web-site.

Ian Ridley resigned just after Christmas. I seem to remember from Gibbo's notes in a match-day programme a season or two ago that the chap who was the guv'nor at Philips was to join the Board but I haven't seen him at games and his name no longer appears in the programme. Or my memory may be failing me. The rest who were appointed when Gibbo took over are no longer around.

Enzo Ferrari, the Chairman of the motor car company is quoted as saying "You need an odd number of people to run a successful company. And three is too many." We're heading that way!

Why do you ask?

Alasdair McMillin took a rare excursion onto the terraces for the second half on Saturday, Laz. He was with his wife, Jo to her friends like what I am, but Mrs McMillin to others, and she is much better looking than he is. She doesn't shout [polite] abuse at match officials either. Does that description help?

;-)

We obviously heard the same whisper, Laz.

I heard that Roberta Rolland [sp?] is no longer around either, Laz, so I'm not sure who on the board has the portfolio marked "Commercial Stuff".

Your reference to shirt sponsorship reminds me, Laz. Isn't it the case that squad numbers and names on shirts is not permitted in the Conference South? You should have bought all the numbered shirts that were available during this last season - Sozzo, Wilde, Theobald, Ada, Benyon etc. etc. etc. etc. Their price on e-bay will be rocketting.

The No 6 is safe in my hands, however. Not for re-sale.

I didn't think that the "doublotto" initiative quite fired the imagination of fans of The Mighty Saints actually, Laz, but I haven't carried out any research. Do lucky winners share 40% of the individual club's total take or is it a Nationwide fund that is shared would you know? Is it accumulative or just based on that week's take? So many questions.

According to the advert in the match-day programme, aspiring lucky punters should contact Roberta, or alternatively, Ian Rogers or Barry Hilliard through the Supporters Club.

Good luck with it Laz.

Ian won the first 'doublotto' game. He bought a villa next door to Cliff Richards on Barbados. They jam old Elvis numbers together most nights at Viv's Joint, a bar on the beach, so I've heard. He has Saints' matches beamed live to the West Indies direct from that scaffolding tower thing at the end of the Cola Stand.

Ian gave Cliff one of those rugby league shirts with the yellow 'V' on the front, and he never takes it off.

"Well Cliff, what was the date when your 14th single entered the charts at number 7 on route to the number 1 slot one week later? I'll give you one day either way. While you're thinking about that one, shall I talk you through Allan Cockram's 17th goal for The Mighty Saints again?"

These might have been appropriate sponsors for this season....

Any thoughs on ticket prices next year? I presume there will be at least a £1 reduction from not having the cameraman on top of the coca-cola stand...

Don't you mean at the end of the Verry Cola Stand or have they pulled the plug on their sponsorship ?
