Conference Sponsorshp Deal

Recommended Posts

Bill King, Chairman of the Football Conference, will be making a major sponsorship announcement at a press conference on Wednesday 11th April.

The new deal, the biggest in non-league football history, will represent a new era for the Football Conference and provide unprecedented support for the 68 clubs within the Conference structure.

Also available for comment at the Press Conference will be Paul Parker, the former Manchester United & England footballer.

As well as having an illustrious top-flight career, winning Premiership medals with Manchester United and appearing in a World Cup semi-final, Paul also has extensive Non-League experience.

In addition to playing for several teams in the Non-League structure, Paul has also managed Welling in the Conference South.

Press conference (followed by one-on-one interviews):

Time: 10.00 for 11.00am (contact Frank PR for media accreditation)

Location: Millennium Hotel London Knightsbridge, 17 Sloane Street, Knightsbridge, London, SW1X 9NU

So, even if we dont get Promotion, this deal, alongside the Setanta TV Coverage is likely to provide us with a better base income next year.

No it's going to be "The Blue Square Premier League" with the lower divisions being renamed Blue Square Northern & Southern The word Conference disappears at the end of the season.

Saw this on the BBC Site this morning, so it is good that the upper level of non league football have secured their future for the next few years. According to the BBC report, the current National Conference will be retitled 'Blue Sqaure Premier' and the North and South Conference called 'Blue Sqare North and South'. Setanta are investing in football across the UK, so as Alan says, the Fleet should get some more financial backing next season even if we don't make it to the Football League!!!!

It'll still be more commonly known as the 'Vauxhall Conference' though.

If anyone catches me calling this division anything other than 'the Conference' next season, you have my permission to shoot me.

Though there will be pedants out there who still like to refer to it as The Alliance...
