disgusting animals

Unfortunately have just been reliably informed that some "SO CALLED" ramsgate supporters abused Charlie Mitten by spitting at him at the end of the derby match on monday. I hope that this kind of support is frowned upon by both sides as I personaly

feel that this disgusting act is almost as bad as racism.

Funny I saw Charlie wiping something off his face near the end of the game and it did cross my mind he had been spat at, however as he did not react or complain to the ref at the time I just guess I was imagining things.

If he had been spat at then he show true professinalism by not letting him get to him at all.

Sitting in the stand you could see something happened midway through the second half and I assumed it was spitting. A bottle (not sure what type) was definitely thrown at Charlie at the final whistle too. Think the spitting thing explains why Charlie took to standing outside his penalty area towards the end of the game - haven't noticed him being that far forward before.

Hopefully the CCTV van might have picked out a few culprits at the Coffin end - presumably that's what it was there for ? I'd think that the 'attacks' on the advertising boards down there might be construed as criminal damage ?

Not sure if it was mentioned elsewhere but there was a spot of bother behind the stand during half time - big gang of teenagers trying to get to the Ramsgate end.

Don't I know it I was standing between them telling them to move back. Give them their due they did too! Though Keith also came down a few minutes later and called for the police which may have helped wink

If that was the case then indeed its deplorable.Apart from that & a bit of bother after the game at the Ramsgate entrance end OUTSIDE of the ground I thought the security on the day was first class.Trouble WAS brewing with a mob of youngsters(never been seen at either Deadwood or Hartsdown before)inside the ground that were trying to get in amongst others & possibly cause bother but security stepped in & nippped it in the bud.(poor idiots.Must have gone home thinking what a waste of time that was to them..tough!)I was hoping that nothing like this would have surfaced on here today & as disgusting as this incident might have been the problems of the day didn't really arise & thanks for that not only goes to the security, police & stewards but to the players themselves(both sets of players)also(all but for one minor incident in the game) kept their cool on the pitch & played the game of football. No reds & only a couple of yellows. Now how many of us thought that would be the case?

Maybe best not to highlight this kind of behaviour too much as there wasn't THAT much to be seen. On this occasion as is normal here at Margate we can be thankful that we had all things covered on the day & correctly too by a professional approach to safety & security inside the ground.Well done the club.Well done to both sets of true fans from both clubs & well done Alan for getting your body in the way of them.

On the Dover un offical forum, there was lads there asking for the Train times to margate on monday, as you said these kids where not known to either club, so could they have been from Dover>?>?

About a dozen of these are known to me from my work Ian.Regular fare dodgers & regular trouble makers AWAY from football.May well have been some Dover guys there too but what would they wish to cause trouble for? Maybe for the same reasons as these lads I suppose.Excuse the pun but "for kicks".Its possible but unlikely.

I think we are going over the top re advertising boards because most of our fans beat them at home games anyway. I know 2 wrongs dont make a right but give them a break. I've been to several Ramsgate games this year and never seen any problems whatsoever and after the game everybody away and home supporters have a drink together without incident.

If someone spat at Charlie hopefully the CCTV will pick it up and ban the twat for life but imo it will probably be a floating so called one game a year supporter.

I support Margate but run a side at Ramsgate in the Kent league and imo both clubs do their best to control supporters when needed and both sets of fans are true followers of their team. You are always going to get a few twats but just ignore them and they will soon go away.

I think you'll find that the trouble makers are all in their teens with nothing better to do on a bank holiday than go and find trouble and where better than a large crowd. Times have'nt change much but in my day it was Mods and rockers.

yes Charlie should be praised for not reacting and also all the players for playing the game with good spirit.

I heard about the spitting, but I am afraid to say that our adolescents were gobbing away as well, not at anyone in particular though, just on to the pitch. Maybe no-one has told them it is not big, manly, or clever, just revolting. Having said that, spitting at anyone should be considered as assault, and perpetrators should be open to the full force of the law in that respect.

What is it with adolescent lads and spit? Who is bringing these creatures up?

Apart from that, we should not use this as a stick to beat anyone with, unless we are absolutely sure that we are complete angels, and have no rabid mob of our own.
