Having just moved to Redhill, I have taken the opportunity to look at some of the local teams in the area and one of the teams has a striker who is on fire. Kwabana Ageyi plays for Merstham and has banged in nearly 30 goals this season, looks the part and is head and shoulders above the rest of the team. Rumour has it that Crawley have noted him, he wont be playing minor non league next year thats for sure.............. Liam , may be worth a look

Jon Main wouldn't be a bad buy I reckon. Trouble with lower-league strikers is you can't guarantee they'll take their form into the Conference. Obviously Daggers' Paul Benson is a proven success, but players like Alan Tait were less so. That's the risk I guess!

Charlie, definitely will go . Sodje, will be hard to convince to stay, chukki may stay, Ross Smith to stay, Lance will leave, opinel will more than likely stay. Sam might stay, if he is promised some first team starts.

As the the rest, well, who really knows who liam will or has convinced to stay.

Depends on the sponsors, didnt someone say about reverting back to part time if crowds didnt improve and having to rely on sponsorship ? Can we afford another full time squad ?

Didn't hear anything to that effect. Jason stated we need bigger crowds to break even without sponsors filling positions as directors and having to dip into their own pockets. But there was no mention of returning to part-time status, unless I missed something?!

Are you basing this on conversations with these players?

Roly said in his programme notes v Forest Gump that he predicts with the current level of sponsorship in our league, we may even see a reversal back to part time football for all non league, so i presume we must be included in that !

Given our poor support, the directors getting fed up with subbing the club and uncertainty over next season's sponsorship, returning to wholly or partially full time would actuallly make sense.

Not a step to the football league, but possibly the right thing to do to preserve our conference status.

The reason we have done so well this season is because of full time players/training and management - i have no doubt. If we reverted back to the Skinner/Jackson/Protheroe type era we would IMO struggle. The teams in this league are much bigger and better now and i think full time as it is, is the only way we will survive.

We just need bigger gates! not as easy as it sounds BUT we seem to have found a way to get them in! TV!

Signing Stacy up for next year would be excellent news and hopefully would help persuade some of the other youngsters to put pen to paper.

 

I am hoping that the lack of players signed up is down to the uncertainty of which league we would be playing and as that pretty well seems to be resolved now I would like to see the bulk of this years squad signed up for another go next season.

 

Whatever the dissapointments in recent matches and in the cups we have seen some excellent performances this season and, on occasions, some top quality football. Our standing in the Conference, and expectations of our own and other Conference teams fans of the Fleets likely position in the league has never been so high...if only we could get some fans through the gate we could have a go at winning this league.

im not sure what you mean, why would the bulk sign up after waiting for us to stay in this league, do you think they would have gone if we got promoted?
