9th. April: Bookham 1 - Dorking 2.

Recommended Posts

Just been around the for awhile playing and coaching and know a few.

I also hear that Bedfont are introuble and might not be around and that Bedfont Green might buy their ground.

There might be hope for both Dorking and Bookham but only if the Collins go from the club as the Council will no longer deal with them, I could go on..... but I won't

Interesting that this JR guy has gone quiet

Well you are wrong there Park Boy as Bookhams ground would meet current Div 1 gradings for exsisting teams, not for a new entry though.

Cannot see Dorking being thrown off Meadowbank, yes they have some issues but nothing that cannot be overcome.

I am sure JR will be on at some point and will give us his wisdom smile

The issue they would have at Bookham would be the slop on the pitch as it is more then the rules state something along the lines of 6% something like that. Then come Season 2008/2009 they will need lights, hard standing etc....

I also cant see Dorking being thrown off Meadowbank as I don't think that is what the Council wants and the people of Dorking would go made, but if the people that own it don't have lease and are not allowed on the ground then they don't have any where to play as the Council will not the Collins be part of it.

Would be funny if Dorking had to ground share at Bookhams ground.

Agree about the light come season 2008 but thats the same for most div 1 sides, not sure on the slope issue, hadn't notice there being one wink

You still haven't explained the councils issue with the Collin's

They won't deal with them as they refuse to pay them the rent they owe and the state they have let the ground get in, it is a very difficult situation as they have serve notice on them.

They only own the playing side of the club, so have no right to the ground as it is own by the Council.

Since April they are only on a month tenet.

It is also how much more will people of Dorking put up with them for.

must admit went there last year and the place was a disgrace,

this is the problem with ground sharing you never now when something like this will come up and put your club in serous trouble, or is it something to do with dorking didn't seelec delta share there then went into oblivion after winning the league, eek

Agree I can't believe the league allow these things to go on. The reason Bookham could get promoted last season was due to them renting the pitch not ground sharing.

Says some where in the rules you can't ground share to gain promotion and as they were only renting this it was o.k but thing like this can come up and clubs put all the work in and this can happen.

I am glad the other half does not like football and reads this site is she would kill me from what I have said.

The ground is run down mainly because for 5-6 years ish there has been talk of redeveloping Dorking Town centre and this ment using the footie ground as a site yard, so why spend money when this might have happened, would be the same as decorating your house one week and knocking it down the next !!!

Things are improving and as always these take time.
