A terrific result, keep the faith we can do it, especially with our run in, Southport, St.Albans(relegated),Northwich all home and of course D&R away, surely we should get at least 9 pointa from that, it's our inconsistency against lower sides that has been our undoing this season.

D&R may even be showboating the last game of the season, although they'll probably prefer to go up with a good performance.

If (big if) we can win the three home matches I think it will be us or York for the last play-off spot.

With Yorks recent home form they can't be looking forward to visits from Rushden and Oxford.

This season has already far surpassed anything any of us expected but if we can still be in with a shout on the last day of the season then maybe even Liams fiercest critics on here will find something good to say....naaahh I am being stupid, cue complaints that sixth place just isn't good enough, poor management cost us a chance at promotion etc etc.

Northwhich have something of a fixture pile up:

09/04| A - Grays Athletic (Lost)

11/04| H - Dagenham & Red

14/04| H - Crawley Town

17/04| A - Stafford Rangers

19/04| A - Gravesend&Nfleet

21/04| H - Burton Albion

6 games in 12 days they might just be a bit leggy by the 19th. Perhaps the Trophy exit was a blessing.

Fantastic today, every single player played well. Rob Quinn wins my man of the match but to be perfectly honest anyone of them could have won it. Lance Cronin kept us in it at the end. The back four showed such passion and then when Hawkins went off and Ricketts came one he was fantastic as well.

We had fourteen heroes today well done them.

Cracking day all round, got back around 21:30 which is a really good run back compared to how bad it could have been.

Today was one of the best away performances off the season.

From front to back , we were superb . And for once , my man of the match was Rob Quinn whos tackling passing and midfield involvement was what should be expected at this level.

Sodje didnt stop running

Chuckies present in winning headers has given fleet an new option up front and Lance seems to be using this option with an increasingly competant golakeeping display.

Ledgier was tackling back , feeding good balls to sodje and getting involved all over.

The lack of Ross Smith worried me prior to kick off , but James Smith had one of his best defensive displays of the season alongside always reliable Paul McArthy. Peter Hawkins and Slasher were again competant and reliable.

Danny Slatter cretaed some intresting passages of play along with Stacy Long who at times got frustrated but kept plugging away,

To top it all , the anticipated Bank Holiday traffic never materiallised , and we arrived back at our Mecca little over 4 hours from leaving Altrincham.

Thanks to all who travelled again , hope you all had safe journeys home and looking forward to many more happy long trips next season (or before if we do make the play offs)
