Ok guys, lets give it a rest. Can we please leave the bickering off the net for the time being? We will all be at Ashford on Monday, lets sort it out then.

Dominic.

Perhaps a suggestion to avoid further confusion - put a note on the Trust website about when you can and when you can't become a member. This is not made clear in the How to Join section, or on the application form

Yet Clive you have no links , yet you can say what you want to have a go ! and try to undermine us all the time ..

so easy sitting on the fence ...

chris sliski

Graham Its not a problem of how when or why ..the trust has a lot of work to do from now until the agm ...and lets be real about this... why all the fuss now 3 weeks before the end of the season... Jenny was already told 3 weeks ago when she joined (she was the last so our books and election notices could be issued)

We are not stopping anyone from joining ! or if they want to attend the AGM this year this will be ok to !

but membership will re open on 7th May at our fun day !

cheers chris sliski

Roy was invited (with Jane) to our board meeting on Thursday to brief us on the George Green development. As you know Jane could not attend for personal reasons.

Roy felt it would be better to try and gain an all party agreement with the council. The trust board took his comments on board but voted to still put one candidate up in Wexham (as the members wanted at the EGM)

We have to listen to what the club has to say, it doesn't neccessarily mean we will go along with them. We listen to our members and make our own descisions, no the club, not Roy or any property developers.

Clive and Rog - I completely understand your feelings towards the club. We are all disilluioned with what is happening to our club at the moment. At board meeting we always find ourselves banging our heads against the wall trying to figure out what we will happen and what we can do.

All i can say is that I try and do my bit as a member of the Trust. As all the the other board members do. We dont have all the answers. I can honestly say (from my point of view) there are no conspiracies or strings attached. Other people might try and influence us but we do make our own descsisons.

Dominic.

Yesterday I finally got round to joining the trust. Following the discussions which had taken place on here a few weeks back, I wanted to sign up to have my voice heard. Fair enough. When I spoke with Mark yesterday, the membership for this season had been closed, although I would be able to sign up at the Fun Day, although I was still allowed to make a donation. Upon asking why the membership had been closed, I was told that because nobody had signed up for a few months that they had decided to close it.

As a result of this and the discussions above, I now have the following questions:

If I do sign up at the Fun Day, will I be able to vote/stand should I wish?

Why has the membership been closed so early? If people want to pay their £10 so late in the season, let them. As with the club, surely all the money they can get it the better regardless of which stage of the season it is offered? The mailing lists would take seconds to update and I am quite happy to sit with anyone to show them how to automate the mailings. (Chris - I'll quite happily pop over to your house if needs be to run through this?)

Should the membership not be closed until after the final home game of the season each year?

What efforts are being made to encourage members who have not rejoined, or alternatively new members, into the Trust? I have received one mailing letter, which sadly for me I misplaced, and nothing further until I sparked the discussions a few weeks back. I'm not hearing the tannoy announcements, or do not see anything which stands out in the programme about encouraging people to join, so could/should/will this be improved?

I hope the questions are taken in the constructive manner I have tried to write them with rather than straight criticism.

Epicrebel, it is board members like you and your know it all atitude that puts people off joining the trust.

It may surprise you that I am able to make my own choices and decisions and gather information from a range of sources to make an educated decision, rather than the trusts/supporters associations method of "we have always done it this way and who are you to question it, we know best!"

As for putting things in writing, I sent the club an email, letter and published the questions on this forum and 7 months on there is still no reply!!!!!!

Now go and ask Chris what you should say in reply!

OK here is the first one:

"Alan Harding has confirmed to me that there is NO coach for Ashford. Understandable really given that it's just up the road and the coach has been making losses all season" FACT, FICTION or RUMMOR?

It has been stated that there will not be a coach to Ashford this Monday due to the recent coaches making a loss - so where are have the funds to cover these losses come from?

Not an answer that would stand up to a financial audit!

I have a number of other factual concerns about how the trust is being managed other than simple financial ones, as above, and it is these that give me no confidence that the trust would be able to pick up the running of the club and then have the skills to manage it, therefore that is why I wish to have no part in STST.

I will now let those on the board of the trust do what they think fit and I will stop "interfering" (asking awkward questions).

You asked a question I answered, you don't exept it so wots the point in answering.

The books are Audited every year so yes they are exepted.

Now your off so you've no point to make just stiring it up.

There are people on the board that have ran a club before, so they know wots needed for the future

SR1, you might well have some valid points, but let's say Martyn Deaner cuts all ties and no other investor(s) come in to save the club. Who else except the Trust would take over then? Would there be any choice?
