1) Thanks for actually citing whose comments you stole from the forum this time, if you actually want an interview please post it and someone (inc me) will be happy to give one, even over the phone as obviously you want to get one as easily as possible (EG copying and pasting without the approval of those commenting on here)

 

2) Martin is not a YOUTH TEAM COACH OF SLOUGH, it is his level on the forum dictated by how many posts he has made on the FORUM(Surely this must have been realised by your 'journo' as other people have tags such as first XI and national first XI- did you honestly think that some of us were England Players???? This was surely done to add some validity to your story that the fans were slagging off the management etc by including the idea that the Slough management were involved WHICH THEY ARE NOT.

 

3) If you checked your FACTS; In the article you say:

 

"Jamie Jackson let is 29 in the last six games", Being as Jamie only came back for the AFC Wimbledon game and our goalkeeper was Carl Dennison before that, this is wrong.

 

4) On the caption to the picture above Jamie Jackson the team/ paper you work for is spelt SLOUGH not SLOOUGH

 

5) Supporters has 2 r s Supporters not Supportes.

 

6) We were not AT WIMBLEDON, we were at AFC WIMBLEDON'S home ground KINGSMEADOW which is shared with KINGSTONIAN.

 

Again if you want to speak to the fans, can it be done on a slightly more official basis? Eg

 

7) You quoted an Anonymous person???!?

 

8) We have many people on the Slough forum posting who are NOT Slough fans and their opinions do not reflect those of the club/management and supporters....

also one other thing...its obvious that they have gone digging through the forum for bad quotes, as the 'who is to blame' thread has disappeared off the first page. they have clearly looked past any positive stuff that is on this front page of threads looking for the worst.

is there any mention of our positive support from saturday or the previous games like there is in the observer?

Just to add my two pence worth - as a journalist this reaks of the most lazy kind of sports journalism imagineable, particularly when the fans are gagging for the opportunity to talk to the local press about their plight (as evidenced by the letters pages in both local papers each week) and when there is actually a press officer who they could reach.

 

The only positive to come out of this matter is the fact that I have now made my mind up to run in the next trust board elections so that I can become a press officer.

 

It is clear that there needs to be a regular contact from the Trust or the Club who sends out a weekly press release to allow local press a reliable source from which to create stories, as well as a person from which they can request interviews if need be.

I've yet to see the paper. I'll get to look at it tomorrow morning, when I get to Slough, (or Sloough).

That is infuriating. As you say they decided not to say "Staines Rebel, First XI - weekly contract" yet they lift a quote directly from here and call me Martin, Youth Team Coach. It is just lazy and is trying to drive a wedge between the club and the supporters. If they really wanted to talk to the supporters they should have come to Kingsmeadow and spoken to us after the game and experienced the atmosphere themselves.

When they nicked stuff from my site without permission, when I emailed them to ask why I recieved a rather snotty email basically saying that they can't afford to send reporters to games so they going to take my stuff instead. Nice bunch.

Their editor a complete joke. He allows unfounded allegations against the football club to be plastered all over his paper. He is a disgrace to his profession and you can quote me on that.

It is laughable and a sign of where we are, that you lose 9-0 and the biggest response since is about the Slough express, where is the fight, why aren't you lot demonstrating against Deaner. He was sitting there in the stand , you should have been asking him what the [****!!****] hell he is doing to the club. Until he goes you are doomed.

Because as far as i am aware most of us have nothing against Deaner as far as i am aware he is pouring money into a bottomless pit of Slough.

We lost 9-0
We expected to get stuffed.
We did not expect some illiterate to come on the website twist it and put it as 'An Exclusive' in the local chip holding material because he was too lazy/inexperienced etc etc to actually go out and RESEARCH and ASK PEOPLE, the club may be a joke but the paper seems to be even more poorly run, and until we hear something from them i will continue to hold that opinion.
BTW (Mr 'Jounalist') is CTRL C and then CTRL V and hey presto another top exclusive.

Surely Deaner is the problem, until you remove him and start running the club you will be in an impossible position. He does not run the club as a club but more of his hobby. When he gets bored or looses intrest the money stops and you go down hill. He is not letting you guys run the club you all obviously love. Whilst he is still there the club will be in a continual decline with no one (incl the crap council) taking the club or its supporters seriously. The local press is crap and again it is systematic of a very poorly run club.

I am sure it would be better served to try and firstly remove the main reason the club is being run the way it is.

As said above Deaner is putting money into the club, and remove him with who in mind Mr Anonymous? If you are, by chance, a russian billionaire, drug runner, gun dealer please feel free to let us know, and £70,000 for Wexham Park + about 50,000 for the refit would be much appreciated
