Harefield to t ake us to the wire

Recommended Posts

So the championship race is now between us and Harefield, there it seems is no stopping Harefield who are on it must be said an amazing run of results. Our form is not hte best it has been and we are scrapping results, and our home form has gone a bit with just one win from the last 4.

Edgware cant afford to drop ANY points now, as Harefield will push us all the way to wire. I hope IF we do win the league its be several points otherwise Harefield and everyone else will rake up the result of the league match with them at home that had to be replayed.

Its going to be tense from now till April 28th,, thats for sure.

You really are running scared now, Gavin! It would ALMOST be worth losing twice to Harefield so that they beat you to the title! However, our boys wouldn't do that to you (well not deliberately!)

Second thoughts- if Harefield won and you came second, you probably wouldn't get promoted, and then all three of us would still be in SSML next season to finish behind Biggleswade Town!

You are wrong there Horace mate, IF we finnish second then we still would be promoted as if Harefield could not be promoted it goes to the second placed team. Take a look on anothers site to see how many teams have passed their ground grading, not many have, and with a new step 4 division for next season clubs are needed.

I dont think your team will roll over, and I could well make a trip on the 24th when you play Harefield at home, as dependent on results that could be the night we win the championship without kicking a ball!

I bow to your superior knowledge on this matter Gavin! Your colleagues were so nice to me when they came over for the Harefield game that never started that it would be churlish of me to do other than wish Edgware all the best!

The whole business between us and Harefield (home game being postponed THREE times, including because of a murder!) suggests that there's more drama to come. I'll be in Harefield Hospital recovering from my operation while the boys play at Breakspeare Road - now there's irony!
