Good Friday - lets hope so!

Ramsgate v Bromley.

Now I know some of you will say "I'm never going to that [****!!****]-hole of a place no matter what game is being played there" but I know that some of you WILL. This is yet another vital game. Not just for the two teams involved but for US too. Yes for US!

I think the crowd will top 600 on Friday over at Deadwood & the game should be a good un'.

What would be the best result for us? I think the "DRAW". WHY?

In the hope that we can win our game on Saturday(nothing taken for granted of course, but in the hope that we can) then the DRAW in this game would see us climb above Bromley on Saturday night with a superior goal difference. We would be 3 points to the good of Ramsgate again, again with a vastly superior goal difference.

So going into Mondays game,if at the final whistle & at worst & if the rednecks do take the game(which to be honest is quite possible at this time) then despite that we would still be in front of Bromley & Ramsgate on that superior goal difference we have. But more importantly we would STILL be in a play-off position. The "draw" i.m.o would make my Friday a very good Friday indeed.

Now as for the form of both teams its highly obvious that the Rams will be going all out for the win here, obviously & on current form they are way ahead of Bromley, who are stuttering badly.I cant see Bromley getting much out of this game in all honesty but the DRAW would be a bonus to us,as mentioned above.

Do you agree or do you see another result being more favourable to us?

I'm just off to the bookies now to back BOTH teams to win, ignoring the draw altogether.l.o.l. I don't mind losing a few quid if it means we get a result on the day and hopefully having seen a GOOD FRIDAY,without having to play.

Unlike Ramsgate folk who have their priorities of "getting one over on us" as being far more important to them than reaching the play-offs,the play-offs being of secondary importance to them we should be hoping that the DRAW is manageable by Bromley on the day for our play-off place moreso than being ahead of our neighbours, but we must respect Ramsgate as being one of the contenders for that final play-off place too. Moreso than them being just being our local rivals, moreso than just getting those bragging rights for the next 12 months..

Its going to be a hard thing for Bromley to do but anythings possible.Whoever takes the lead if indeed someone does then I for one will be willing for the other team, even if its Ramsgate,to get an equaliser.

All we have to do then is to win our game v Slough on Saturday(no easy task despite recent results for them)& my thoughts, hopes & wishes will have become a reality & we will be back in with a good shout of promotion.

Thank you young man. There is an even better result for us though.A win for Ramsgate over Bromley then a win for us over Slough & Ramsgate. However my first two posts were "hedging my bets" posts,so to speak.

Clearly a Bromley victory at Deadwood would be the worst result.Come on, I want a GOOD FRIDAY not a bad one!

2 teams in contention playing each other: we must favour a draw, only 2 points to be distributed.

If a team in contention plays a team out of the race then obviously we want the lower side to win.

Cookie you are not treating our friends at Ramsgate as 'out of the race' are you? smile

Not at all Chris not at all, as I mentioned previously(above)

In terms of the worst result-that would be a Bromley win. So a draw or a R*msgate win is the best result which puts things back in our own hands. Get into a play off spot, match or better teams results who are below us and we are then masters of our own destiny as it's horrible having to rely on other teams performances. Being optimistic, I haven't ruled out automatic promotion-still achievable with all the six pointers going on.

Us aside(hopefully I dont live to regret saying that)Ramsgate DO seem to have,on paper the easier of the run-ins.We look to have it all to do.AFC should manage enough to get them a place.Bromley have those 2 points advantage over us at present so its going to be a hard task for us I think. A win on Monday would make things look a lot healthier (obviously)for us indeed.Ramsgates next two games could be a clincher for them. Two wins & they are in the driving seat without a doubt.

On my assessment of things Ramsgate could lose out on goal difference to Bromley & we would miss out altogether.Cripes this is a hard run-in to really predict.

I didnt realise JUST how important Mondays game was until now.(Obviously it was mega before).Tomorrows result is equally as majestic.Almost certainly the next two games for Ramsgate must be their biggest two games in succession in their entire lifetime so far.

Games left for those in REAL contention. Others are not yet out of the race it must be added.

My final table would look like this:

1) Hampton & Richmond 85pts

2) Billericay 81 pts

3) Chelmsford 78 pts

4) AFC Wimbledon 77 pts

5) Bromley 73 pts (Through on GD)

6) Ramsgate 73 pts

7) Margate 71 pts

We have to win on Saturday whatever but Monday is equally as important in getting a result. We also need a few results to go our way too & for us to pick up points where I feel we may not do so.

2 weeks ago you could of said we had the hardest run in with 5 of our games left were against the top sides but we have managed to pull off 2 good results from those last 2 games, but we still have 5 games left ,our next 3 are against supposely the top sides, its gonna be interesting and all very close i feel

You have done good Mick,no two ways about it whereas,& for whatever reasons, we have let ourselves down badly of late.Monday though we have to get to grips & put in our best effort ever.I am fully in awe of your form of late (despite hating you all to bits)l.o.l.

We still have to,& lets not overlook the fact get a win at Slough first & that ISNT going to be as easy as some might think.

Interesting predictions can't really see The Gate dropping points at Hendon though.

The form of top clubs like Margate and Bromley has been shocking.

Ramsgate have done really well. It's a bold man who's willing to predict what the final table will look like. But maybe Cookie your deliberately underestimating the chances of the gate turning things around?

Recent form though has been very poor. But i think if the Gate do get in the play offs they may do a lot better than some people think...Just as long as they don't have to play Ramsgate!

that will be a strange sort of game against slough, because i would imagine because there isnt any pressure on them, they will just go out there and enjoy there game and will probably play well against some of the teams they have left, and maybe slough will go out with a bang and win a few.

Watched the video of that game v AFC Gary & I noticed your lads had a few chances though. It didn't seem like it was all one-way-traffic for 90 minutes. We have to be wary of that & as Mick says you have nothing to lose but everything to gain by getting a result against us even if its just a draw.We should be aware of that & go into the game with the right attitude & not underestimate you.

If we fail miserably at your place we wont have deserved anything this season thats for sure.Mondays game then will be an anti-climax & not the kind of game we all expect it to be.Or will we even CARE if we don't succeed at your gaff? (Of course we will, but the shine & intensity will have been taken off it thats for sure).
