I can't see ourselves making them to be honest. Even if we beat Sudbury on the 14th, I can still see them making up 4 points in their 2 games in hand. Can't see Maldon losing too many games between now and the end of the season although they've still got to go to Ware and Harlow.

That could still happen. On the other thread I used the Conference South example from last season but I think it was a case of the 6th and 7th placed clubs didn't have decent enough grounds so couldn't be considered for the play offs.

very poor standard from maldon not to apply. i understand the decision was made after only 3 games of the season and they along with wakering are the ONLY teams not to apply. embarassing.

In the Suffolk "Green un" every club files a weekly report.According to the Maldon scribe, they PASSED their ground inspection last week...leaving them ready to play in the Ryman Premier next season (his words, not mine)Its all got a bit confusing, especially as 2 of our management team have been told by those in the know that Maldon will cease to exist within 1/2 years and will merge with Heybridge.Certainly Heybridge are moving to the Maldon ground, and the original plans in the paper showed 2 grounds and 2 clubhouses. However I am told that the plans submitted for approval show only 1 ground and clubhouse.

Very weird.

Shame Harlow aren't playing at Wivenhoe, wouldn't have minded going myself. Oh well.

It did seem a little odd having two clubhouses. A merger would certainly make sense in that case. Shame they haven't applied for promotion, they would have had a huge local derby with Heybridge if they went up, looking at both clubs average attendance... wink

Boxing Days would never have been the same in Maldon!!!

Is that part of the world known as the Denghi peninsula? The Denghi derby has a certain ring to it!!!

Well somebody hasnt told the guy who writes the Maldon column....I have just dug last Sundays paper out and his exact words are "The Park Drive set up was inspected last week and given the relevant ground grading by the FA. With one or two minor works to be carried out, there is nothing now should the blues be successful in the play offs to stop them going back up into the Ryman Premier league after one season down"

Except one thing perhaps?? And should someone tell him??
