A game of few chances I thought.With the wind Ricay created one major chance excellently saved by Charlie. An out of this world save might I add. Charlie had trouble kicking into the wind in that first half but then so did Ricays keeper in the second half. One other chance to Ricay in that first half when Charlie was slow to come out for the ball & it shaded the post with a Ricay lob.

Second half possession wise it was 80/20 Margate(with the wind) but they failed to find a cutting edge.Jacko should have done better & Jay was unlucky with a well saved effort.

Only in the last 5 minutes of that second half did Ricay put us under any pressure.One effort cleared off the line.

Ricay certainly werent "all over us" at any point in the game that I noticed. They had the better of the first half yes,but we relpied with the same in the second half possession-wise,not with clear cut chances..A pretty dour game really.The wind was the winner tonight though & a draw was undoubtedly a fair result.

Agree with most of what you Margate fans have said. Wind was the deciding factor and neither team could cope with it adequately. Whichever team had the wind behind them had much the better of the respective half.

 

We enjoyed our trip down to your place, fun as ever. Good luck with your play off push.

 

PS to ramsgate fans. Ive been reading this forum for a while and you come on here and give it large to the margate fans, yet seem to post nothing on the ramsgate forum itself. Why dont you concentrate on your own teams push for the play offs instead of trying endlessly to wind up your rivals?

Good comments James. Not the most entertaining of matches but the best atmosphere at HDP for a while, I'm sure inspired largely by the away support. As for the ramsgate fans, they are like any child trying to find their way in the world - hopefully they'll turn out OK once they reach puberty.

Great post Jim, but unfortunately will do no good as I think they have all lost their way to their own forum, a bit like Chelmo fans on yours I guess? Great to see you all last night and what friendliness there was between the respective fans. Good luck in your quest in getting promotion too.

Poor game overall, undoubtedly spoiled by the wind. I must admit I thought we were dreadful in the first half, and Charlie kept us in it with several very good saves. But, once we were shooting with the wind, it struck me just how strong the wind was, and, on reflection, we did well to keep a clean sheet.

But I thought we were poor again last night. Overrun in the midfield, lack of creativity going forward, very few chances created. I know I keep saying it but what's happened to the team who was playing such scintillating football earlier in the season - all we seem to do now is hoof and hope. We really do have to improve if we are going to crawl over the line and into the playoffs.

I have no doubt that this will get a reaction like 'Don't be so negative', but I always speak my mind, so feel free to criticise smile
