According to our local paper today Stony have had approval from the league for Promotion to the Premier Division.

I always said, using Holmer Green as an example, that there was no reason why Stony Stratford shouldn't be promoted. It was probably only ever wishful thinking on clip Rods part that they weren't realistic contenders in the promotion race. Good news for them and for Maurice Barber, a genuinely nice guy. Should be a cracking game at Brimsdown tomorrow night, one I would have been at if I hadn't got a ticket for the Chelsea v Valencia game.

Changing rooms miles away from the pitch.

Visitors changing room is a disgrace from what i can recall.

 

Unless things have improved in the last 2 years........

 

Considering that Buckingham were turned down promotion the year we went up, i find this decision a little strange.

Assume you're talking about New Bradwell now Robbie? The walk to the pitch was a warm up in itself! Never played at Stony Stratford so can't comment.

we do have a little walk but are just waiting for the redtape to be lifted so we can build the new changing rooms by the half way line, but if you think ours is big stony's is about 3 times the distance

I was referring to Stony Stratford, New Bradwell was still a bit a trek but nowhere near Stony's standards. There is no way that Stony should be allowed promotion

haha, actually my missis lives a stones throw from the ground, so i't wouldnt be a problem! Cockfosters, Brimsdown and Ampthill for me, but i bet only one goes up or something stupid like that!!!

How do you all think the Stony Stratford will do against us in the Challenge Trophy final? Having beaten FOUR Prem sides we are not going to take them for granted thats for sure.

Ampthill another trek! Keep Buckingham, New Bradwell and SS in Div 1!! Actually Ruislip and Harefield are a bit far as well. In fact Biggleswade is borderline!!

Yes, I'm hoping to be there, I'm most surprised that you chose Chelsea v Valencia rather than Brimsdown v Stony Stratford, I know where I'd rather be so why don't you sell your ticket and come, how much did it set you back out of interest. As for Stony Stratford's ground meeting Premier Division criteria, I mentioned it to their local rivals Buckingham Athletic last night and you could have knocked them down with a feather, I've never seen anyone so surprised.

Maybe those at Buckingham aren't aware that there is major work being undertaken at Ostlers Lane in the coming weeks. It'll feature in tomorrow's MK Citizen, if I remember I'll scan a copy.

That's excellent news, Stony Stratford deserve to be promoted following the season they've had, I look forward to seeing their game tonight at Brimsdown if I can get there. Hopefully Potters Bar Town will be present if he does the right thing and sells his Chelsea v Valencia ticket.

I agree that Stony deserve to be promoted, they were close last year and look to be going one better this. With regard to the work to be carried out in the future Appendix A says that clubs seeking promotion must have their facilities in place by 1 April prior to commencement of the season in question.

 

Out of interest, in view of the distance from the clubhouse to the covered accommodation was a concrete or similar walkway in place before 1 April?
