The Masons Farm planning permission was REFUSED on 29th March.

It is quite noticeable that there is no mention of the ground on the application itself.

The sports stadium was going to be part of the second phase. This application was for the first phase only. Doubtless the application will now be refined and resubmitted or the decision will be appealed.

Ah right. Could the 2nd phase not be submitted as a separate application in its own right?

[Martin]

The application could be submitted separately but I would imagine that the second phase would be funded by the first phase so they are dependent on each other.

Tom, as the first phase was turned down, with low cost housing, do you think the second phase with a football ground would get permission. It was planned that if the first phase got the OK on green belt land, the council could not say no to the second phase.

Also think of the amount of protests from the locals if the second phase went in now.

P.S. there are a few of us who live in George Green and support Slough. We would love the club to have a ground here but it WILL NOT happen.

Somehow I could never see a football ground being built in George Green - too many NIMBYs, plus I think there was talk of it being at risk of flooding. Shame really, but I hope we keep trying...
