Southport to let fans in for free

Southport will let fans who attend the Easter Monday match with Burton Albion in free for their final home game.

The Conference strugglers will also give season-ticket holders a free ticket to bring a friend to their match against York on 21 April.

Chairman Charlie Clapham told his club's website: "In a very difficult season our supporters, home and away, have been superb, right behind us."

"We therefore feel a thank-you gesture is the least we can do."

Haven't you noticed my absence Slarti?

Not only have I managed to switch it on but I'm seriously starting to kick some ass. I got this game called Resistance Fall of Man, see sig, which takes place in 1951. WW2 never happened and the Russians have developed some sort of fighting beast called the Chimera and all of Europe has been wiped including most of Britain but for a little resistance. The Yanks come along and save the day though so phew.

I'm currently in London defending Tower Bridge as my allies lay some depth charges as we attempt to blow it up. Damn Yanks showing a lack of respect, just because they couldn't buy the bridge they feel then need to blow it up.

Watch out for that friendly fire.

I got one for Mr Yoda on Saturday and we haven't seen him since....so worth every penny!

He got Motorstorm and Call of Duty 3 with his but I dare say Resistance Fall of Man will be next on his list unfortunately I can't play because I am too old anythimg more advanced than a Johnny Seven and I come out in a rash.

Yep you did well there. Motorstorm is probably the best release game and Call of Duty games never fail to impress.

Resistance isn't that great it's just a very original idea which opens it up. Theres this great bit where you have to charge at the enemy without fear. Suddenly you hear one of the guys behind you shout "Who's that?" another shouts "I don't know but back him up", great moment.

Games to look forawrd to for the future are Gran Turismo 5, Grand Theft Auto IV, Oblivion: Elder Scrolls and the Getaway 3.

This is a screenshot from the Getaway 3, yes please.

Did you know that downloading Folding @ Home could help cure Cancer.

Pah! You 'kids' don't know you're born! I remember the days when Horace's pixel-head would detach from his pixel legs and then crash the program on Horace Goes Skiing on the ZX Spectrum.

Spectrum! poof.

I had a ZX81 and bought a magazine that advertised a free Star Trek game for the ZX81, it just gave you the code and you had to type it in yourself. Since each key had about eight different meanings depending on which other keys you held down and the 'touch sensitive' keyboard varied between not firing a key if you hit it with a hammer to firing every key on the keyboard if someone slammed a door it took me seven hours to program it and the bloody game was pants.

Ha ha ha, yes, I remember those.... mags the width of telephone books with 80-page long programs that you had to feckin well type in yourself and if you got one comma wrong, the whole thing was doomed to failure, and if you got it right, it was utter crap anyway. Ah, the glory days!

Allstars and his Call of Duty! Pah! I'd like to see him nuke Kiev and Minsk in Raid Over Moscow.

I think we are all missing the obvious given the geographical location of Southport....clearly they are trying to attract a big crowd and while they are all in the ground watching the football someone will be outside nicking the hubcaps. A quick hubcap sale on ebay and Southport will have a enough for a new team next season.

The PS3 is a good enough machine, it's just too expensive and most of it's games are gonna be X-Box 360 ports as developers have found it far easier to write their games on the 360. Also worth remembering is that it took a good while for decent, true next gen games to appear on the 360, most of them at first were direct ports from old machines with better graphics.

The only thing that would tempt me to get one would be the Blu Ray, but I'm not convinced by it. I can see us all just getting massive hard drives next to our tvs and downloading HD films on demand. Some places are already doing this with dvds, and internet speed is getting better all the time so hd may not be too far behind.

The 360 is great, loads of good games, Live is brilliant, and you can pick up a premium 360 for a tad over £200, you can't beat it.

I haven't included the Wii as it's not next gen, no matter what they would try and have you believe, and until they come out with a lightsaber game I can't be bothered with it.
