Question for the mobile phone bods.

I've just realised that I'm due to an upgrade on my phone soon.

 

Spoken to 02, and apart from more minutes at a cheaper rate, etc, and being allowed into their long weekends promotion, obviously I'm going get a new phone.

 

What I want is.....

 

.....something with msn messenger on it.

 

Any ideas what decent phones come with it on?

 

Great win yesterday btw.....I spent my weekend in Cumbria seeing my girlfriend ,hence the 'job offer in the pipeline' comment from last week!

Hmmmmm. Is the msn on that because it's with 3 or because of the phone?

 

02 my current tariff:

Online 50 tariff 1400 anytime mins, 200 texts - £50 a month.

(Yes I use my phone this much and more! March bill £206 The joy of working nights and phoning the girlfriend.....daren't risk using the company phones!)

 

After upgrading, I will receive another 2000 mins that can be used anytime on Sat/Sun/Mon each month, on top of my monthly anytime minutes.

 

Plus the cost will be reduced.

 

So that will be a whopping 3400 mins a month for my £50 and I shouldn't get a £200 bill again.

 

HOWEVER.....

 

Vodaphone looks interesting:

 

Jodee is on vodaphone and there's a 'vodaphone family' on selected tariffs;

 

£5 a month gives unlimited calls between up to 4 vodaphone numbers, with only a need to redial every 60 minutes.

 

These calls do not use up any family members talkplan allowances.

I'm on orange. 200 texts, 500mins any network anytime, unlimited landline calls. £35 a month. I think it's the racoon package.

ive got a nokia 6280 slide up phone its on 3 with an 18 month contract. it has 2000 texts and 600 minutes and i have half price line rental for 12 months which is £15 and £5 free downloads.. it also has msn after tht i only have 1000 texts and 300 minutes. but if u go into the 3 store they have good deals

im with 3, half price line rental for 6 mths. 13.50. this was by being billed 13.50 and not those horrible redemption offers. sony ericcson K610i, downloaded msn messenger for free from their wap site when it came out, saying 1 mth free then £XX per month. intended to cancel but then they said, its FREE all the time. result.i get 200 txts, and 600 mins i think.

Cheers Fellas.....got it all sorted.

 

Staying with 02 contract - got the all-singing, all-dancing nokia n95 being delivered next week, which has full net access & msn messenger on it.

Changed tariff to 600 mins + 1000 texts for £35, meaning I get the 2000 mins a month extra for 'long weekend' free calls on sat/sun/mon.

 

Also bought a decrepid £30 payg nokia from vodafone and have set up the family group with our numbers.....apart from the £5 monthly charge, I haven't paid anything for the calls & neither has Jodee when phoning me.

 

So with 02 for texts & work calls, and a vodafone hotline between here & Cumbria, I think that I've prevented the £280 bill(yes that was the final total!) from happening again.

My contract runs out in October, I'll have to see whats about at the time but at the moment thats leading the race.

What did people do before mobile phones ? I don't recall large queues outside public telephone boxes....?
