A few pictures

Recommended Posts

A few pictures from my travels today, the first three are from Aston Clinton, which like most grounds in Division 2 consists of a field and a couple of dug outs. Aston Clinton have a lot of space and have another pitch next to it as well as a kids playing area, basketball area and allotments within touching distance. Potentially they could build up, should the money and inclination be there.

These one's were taken from Tring Corinthians ground and are a complete contrast to Aston Clinton's. Trings ground is hemmed in on all sides, and you even have to go over a stye and fence into the neighbouring field to view the match from one side. They have virtually no room at all and have done very well to manage to get a pitch and facilities in where they have.

They are all panoramic ones HTFCew, we were winning 2-1 at half time, and for some reason everyone seems to think Im a jinx so I was banished for the greater good grin Looks like it worked.

At Tring it was a reserve match being played, Corinthians vs Cockfosters, I did consider trying to pop down to Aylesbury Vale, but I don't know where there ground is on the top of me head so I decided against it.

AWK - Great stuff and a good insight into life in Division 2, this is what it's all about at the end of the day isn't it and not your Stamford Bridge's, Old Trafford's or Ashburton Grove's.

Thanks Rhodes, there can be a problem with taking photos in Division 2 that at times it can look like you are just taking a picture of a field but the two grounds I went too today can show the differences, and difficulties teams have.

Aston Clinton's pitch was a bit of a walk from the clubhouse (not Stony Stratford standards though) but they have plenty of room and look like they have a good community set up with other sports being hosted at the same place. On the other hand, just a five minute drive away, I was startled to how enclosed Tring Corinthians ground is, barely enough room for the linesmen to run up and down the sides of the pitch, the goal near side of the picture is almost in the car park (it cant go back any further either as there is a drop which doesnt show up as well on the photo as being there), I first thought they had a stand behind the goal, but it turned out to be there dressing room, but that does give it character, and although it looks like they would have a harder job to improving facilities as opposed to Aston Clinton, Tring's ground is far more interesting to visit.

A clue that Kentish Town may be aiming their sights a little lower thatn Ashburton Grove next season?

One for the boys: What makes a moderately attractive young woman want to spend an afternoon jigging up and down, pony-tail swinging this way and that, in front of a bunch of wolf-whistling reprobates in a former mining village on a drizzly Saturday afternoon? A lino was a lady.

Maybe they had a after match meal, that Gordon Ramsey would be proud of....and their hospitality, I've heard, is second to none at Dinnington Town

Aren't you running the risk of being done for copyright by cutting and pasting off that Blog or did you get permission
