Well done to to STFC's players and supporters. What a great bunch you are. With your spirit you'll be back up soon enough and you'll deserve it.

interesting to see on the AFCW guestbook that their fans are arguing over whether jolly actually scored on saturday!!

its amazing to see all these messages of support from these AFCW fans after our showing of loyalty on saturday. here's a quote from the match highlights from the website posted above:

"The Rebels fans are still behind their team at 0-9 down, a credit to football"

Congrats to Rebels' fans for your good humour throughout the season- I always read your message board and it reminds me of the best of British footie - good humour even in adversity. Hope to see you lot on the way up one time.

Having not commented on the day yet, I'd like to now - I thought it was great fun from start to finish.

The supporters game in the morning was actually a pretty good spectacle - 3-2 to Wimbledon at half-time and 7-3 at full-time. Good fun as a player and a spectator.

The main game itself was obviously difficult to watch as the massive gulf in class manifested itself again. Even I didn't expect a 9-0 (I predicted 6-0), but to be honest Wimbledon were so clinical and ruthless - it was impressive to watch. They had the ball in the net 11 times in total (Jolly's disallowed one in the first half I thought was onside) and missed a couple of real sitters too. However I was proud at the way we didn't go into our shells and play a 8-1-1 formation - we actually stuck to the system with two up front and at least tried to play.

It's nice to hear so many positive comments from the opposition fans. We really did give it a bloody good go at supporting the side and I think we have a lot of fun in doing so. I know a lot has been said about the attitude of some of their supporters (some of it by me, I admit) but before Saturday I really hadn't experienced being given an ovation outside the ground, together with numerous handshakes and offers of drinks inside the bar afterwards. It's easy to do that after winning 9-0 I know, but there was no feeling of having our noses rubbed in it - just a feeling of joy that their title hopes were alive, and good luck wishes, and it actually made me feel quite proud.

Highlight has to be Haydon the Womble bowing to us - legend. And a number of the Wimbledon players clapped us at the end too which was nice, as well as the banter with Masters, who looked as if he might fall asleep at any minute!
