BBVE v Ruislip local paper match report

Recommended Posts

Boro' are midweek lords of the Manor

A SCINTILLATING first half display saw Broxbourne Borough completely dominate Tuesday night's match against Ruislip and the two goals they scored seemed scant reward for their efforts.

Having hit the woodwork three times, Boro' deserved to be comfortably ahead but at half-time they led by only one goal having conceded in between strikes from Daryl Mitchell and Danny Ward.

Tuesday's confident performance was reminiscent of the form Boro' displayed when they put Royston to the sword in an 8-2 win the previous week, and continued an impressive run which has seen four victories in their last five games and 17 goals scored.

The club have so far amassed 49 points, their total tally for last season, with 10 games still to go.

Caretaker boss Tony Faulkner told the Mercury: "We've set ourselves a points total. We know we've improved on last season and we want to show that by finishing well in the league."

From the opening minute against Ruslip Boro' looked threatening with Aitken hitting the bar before Matt Kearney won a penalty when he was brought down by the keeper.

Daryl Mitchell converted and shortly afterwards Aitken again struck the bar, this time from a header.

The visitors levelled the scores in the 35th minute against the run of play but Ward headed home Mitchell's cross five minutes later to make it 2-1 to Boro' at half-time.

More chances followed in the second half with Broxbourne in control but there were no more goals.

Broxbourne Borough V&E: Stevenson, Casali, Norman, Kemble, Drysdale, Aitken, Dauti, Theo (Nicola), D Mitchell, Kearney (Taylor), Ward. Subs not used: L Mitchell, Adriano.

I thought Broxbourne played at Welwyn Garden City on Tuesday. Also why didn't Safraz play.

rhodes, why tag your question onto a report from a game played in March?

HTFCew - I couldn't agree with you more

Sorry I thought you were replying to Lato, do you know what the point of this thread is.

are you just plain stupid rhodes or deliberately provocative or both. Is it not obvious and do my and HTFCew's replies to your original post show that.

Lato - I tend not to take note of who replies to who as usually it is obvious although this was one of the occasions when it was apparently not. Do you happen to know what the point of this thread is.

its a match report posted in March from a game played in March. There was one reply also made in March until for reasons best known to yourself you chose to put a non sensical reply up this morning. Why did you do that...I demand an immediate and lucid reply.

I suggest HTFCew we just ignore him on this one.

HTFCew - I think I owe you and Lato an unreserved apology, that's exactly what happened as I didn't realise it was a thread going back to March. I hold my hands up and hope that it hasn't spoiled my chances of being considered for the vacant Ruislip Manor Secretary job.

Fair enough for admitting the error and the apology but I don't think it would affect your chances in any way of getting the job rhodes, should you apply of course.
