>>>here is nothing wrong with fans owned clubs. ETFC were the first I believe

No - in modern day terms, you have Maidstone Utd, formed when the original club folded, after a short spell in the Football League.

You also have Newport County, formed when the old club folded after half a season following their relegation from the Football League.

Aldershot Town - formed in the season following the original club's withdrawal from the Football League.

For the record, there is also Telford, Wimbledon, Enfield Town, and FC United of Manchester.

There is nothing wrong with this happening - it is, after all, the choice of a section of the original club's supporters to form a new club - what does tend to irritate is when a new club - and all of these are new clubs, like it or not - makes demands on the local council, for example, when they insist they are connected to the old club and therefore demand the right for the council to give them a ground, or in some cases, someone else's ground. There may well be other clubs who have taken the name, or a similar name, to a previously well known club.
