Yeah Steve Browne got the "Tin Tack" and most of the players followed him out of the door.

 

As a stop gap measure, the chairman "loaned" 8 x players from Dag & Red's academy (Their Essex & Herts team) to help him out. They have since returned to D&R so they are struggling for players.

 

May possibly be a good time to play them!!!

they drew with harlow town so they must have a decent squad.daggers ressies have a game tuesday night(home to gwr).

The Harlow result was prior to the D&R players going back to the Daggers.

 

They have since lost 3-1 to Enfield Town.

After spotting many weeks ago that neither Basildon and Aveley had a game on the 31st, the ETT game was organised at our place and it was decided that the reserves game would have to be re-scheduled. We heard last week that the reserves E&HBL game had to take precedence over the ETT game.

I understand that last weekend Eton Manor approached us to play their outstanding fixture against us at our place. I understand that this was agreed between both clubs and the ESL so the reserve game was off and the first team game on, as under these circumstances, the first team took precedence!

However on Tuesday, Eton Manor decided (for reasons unknown)not to play the game after all so the reserve game was back on.

We had also made approaches so that we could play our outstanding game against Sawbo on the 7th but Romford were allocated a fixture against Sawbo that day!

So we have nine outstanding league and one cup games to play and the last possible date is the 28th April.

Tue 17/4 Hullbridge H

Thu 19/4 Aveley ETT H

Sat 21/4 Bowers H

We have to fit in Eton Manor A, APSA A and Sawbo H and for the next two Saturdays we have no fixture!! So it's seven games in seventeen days before the Bowers game on the 21st April. I guess our players will be pretty knackered by then!

It's a good job that we are not going for the title.

An Aveley and South Ockendon Masterplan has been published. It is a planning document from the Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation. Part of the plan is to relocate the football club and use the current site for housing. The plan gives two possible sites for a new ground.

Here is a solution....as the pitches are in reasonable nick now (I know we are talking Basildon here.. ), why couldn't the reserves kick off at 1pm and then the first team cup game at 3pm? Simple pimple....

Wouldn't be enough time between games for showers, clearing the dressing rooms, first team warm up etc.

 

However, still a good idea if the first game kicked off around 11:00ish. Probably a bit too late to organise now.

We have played on a Saturday before against Ford United. Both sides gameless so made sense. Hooks, I used 1pm as a Ball Park time. Midday or 11am as you say. Makes sense to me. Perhaps Bowers could have thought have that to get through their back log. Good boost for the bar too..

Yeah the ressies can take the game but the first team don't have a game this Saturday or next Saturday. Also JH wanted to give the players a run-out prior to the big one on Weds.

There may still be a twist in the tail. JH has to get quite a few players registered for the Essex & Herts on Saturday. Not normally a problem as you can sign on the day, but Sat (31/3) is the final day for registration and all registrations have to be with the Reg Sec by 4:00pm!!!!!!

So the ressies may take the game afterall.
