The ETT is outside the boundaries of both the ESL and the E&H and unlike the ESL League cup and GBT, and the E&H's Fred Budden and Combination cup, it is way down the pecking order in terms of priority.

sorry hookey how can the league overrule it!!! surely basildons "reserves" can play the "reserve" fixture!!!!!

 

coahc aveley have lost all their players. got no money etc. they will be esl standard at best.

to me it doesn't make sense taking a reserves fixture instead of playing Aveley in thamesidetrophy.you have your reserves side:what they are gonna do at the week-end?playing golf?and we moan about the fixtures pile-up....it doesn't add up.

Yeah the ressies can take the game but the first team don't have a game this Saturday or next Saturday. Also JH wanted to give the players a run-out prior to the big one on Weds.

 

There may still be a twist in the tail. JH has to get quite a few players registered for the Essex & Herts on Saturday. Not normally a problem as you can sign on the day, but Sat (31/3) is the final day for registration and all registrations have to be with the Reg Sec by 4:00pm!!!!!!

 

So the ressies may take the game afterall.

Just to clear up any confusion, when Basildon Utd approached the E&H to rearrange the BU Res v Burnham Rbrs res league game so that the first team could have the pitch to play Aveley in the ETT, the E&H refused and said the ressie league game v BR should go ahead.

 

This would leave the firsts without a game, which is why JH is considering taking the game.

 

Not that unusal, Bowers did it v Heybridge recently.

No Coach, the 1st team can't play Aveley because the pitch will be being used by the ressies..... That's the problem.
