Soft underbelly - is there a cure?

Recommended Posts

At the start of the year I thought Quinn played the role of Bobby Bowry well; getting tackles in, being industrious, and subtly dictating the play from the middle. However, he has looked beleaguered lately and I don't think we can rely on him in that position. Over the summer, Daish's priorities must be to 1) Keep the current squad together, bar a couple of players

2) Sign another Bobby Bowry.

3) Sign Chukki, or a striker who looks capable of being compatible with Charlie, and who can be relied upon for goals if/when Charlie is out.

The reason we have Chucki right now is because he is one of a long list of strikers who look the part but hardly ever score at Conference level.....

.....remember Coleman, Parker, Jefferson etc etc

Charlie Mac's only come once in a blue moon and we've had that blue moon last season and this ....

Think where we would be in the table without his goals !

i think riverview has got it dead right, we should be looking at the up and coming players from the lower leagues.good strikers in and around the conference wont be coming to us because we dont pay high wages,by good strikers i mean 20+ goals a season.i think our biggest problem this year has been not having a jimmy jackson to pop up and score when no one else can.

It doesn't take long does it. I bet the whingeing brigade have had a miserable few months while we were doing so well, still at least we all know that the recent run of results has cheered a few people up.

LOL at Stu. It sounds that way. Apart from recent results, has this not been a good season. ok we've tasted what it feels like in the play off zone but god that makes me want more next season. If every season was like this I certainly wouldn't have any complaints (well not many). I think Chukki could be a long term success. All I would like to see is two man mountains in defence.

mr slartibartfast, why is it when someone says something you dont agree with, you belittle them instead of debating the subject.riverview red has made an honest statement, so whats the problem, its what this forums for isnt it.we all support the same team but with different views as how we should play.

Ah....a debate....surely not.....he we go then...

Money doesn't buy happiness ( but I guess it helps !). However, money does buy a good team....so, the moral of the story is.....that you acheive what the bank balance dictates !!

It's the sh*t sandwich syndrome.....the more bread you get, the less sh*t you eat !!

Also.....with a touch of humour ( and no offence meant to anyone )....I am not at York....I have no excuse, or a note from my mum, I just didn't want to go.....so I am off to get p*ssed, watch Sky Soccer Saturday ( I wish they wouldn't call it Soccer ...it's football !) and end up having a nice Indian meal tonight !!

Good luck to the lads today......and, remember, take life seriously, but don't take yourself seriously !! The sun has got his hat on, hip hip hip hooray ! Perhaps if Blair taxed miserable old w*nkers more, he could channel some funds our way ?

Onward & upwards..........beers for all !

Over & out !

Cheers,

Funny how every honest opinion of RR's is that Gravesend and Northfleet are crap, he seems to think less of the Fleet than I do of Dartford....I wonder what team he supports?

At least Chatham Gary, who seemed to share a lot of Riverview Reds views of doom and gloom last season had the good grace to keep posting when his forecasts where proved wrong and admit that we were doing better than he expected.

Where was RR when we were riding high in the league?

And herein lies the evidence that he is a troll, and a very effective one at that. The biggest mystery is why people continue to reply to him.
