Lets start off with the poor. The referee was awful. He stopped the game every thirty seconds for needless fouls and booked players for nothing. Williams should not have been sent off and their manager admitted that and neither should their full-back. He was awful to both sides.

 

Played well though, but like Tuesday the match should have been over way before we scored our second. Sammy hit the post, Boot hit the post and Booty missed a one-on-one with the keeper and Sammy missed from one-yard!

 

In fairness to Tony though he took the header really well and is playing really well at the moment.

 

Willo's goal was class. A candidate for goal of the season. Beckham would have been proud of that curl and Byron's goal was a great team goal.

 

One worrying thing though is if we get players injured. Ryan Spencer was named on the bench even though he was injured up in the stand. If we get more injuries we really are struggling.

 

Also well done to Arlesey for bringing 30 or so fans. More than many teams in this division have. Good luck for the rest of the season.

An enjoyable match, despite the ref. Good performance by the team, and good support from the crowd. Now we need to perform like that away from home.

Wasn't clear on the first sending off, but for the second it is quite clear that you cannot raise your hands to a player, even if you have been fouled. If I was their manager I would roast the players for their lack of discipline. BUT as I indicated earlier their game plan is all about agression, not retreating at free kicks, blocking the ball or taking it away - typical Stevenage stuff. Oh and their number 12 should have gone for manhandling our player at a free kick (williams? Bubb?)and dragging him 5 yards across the pitch. It is not the players job to grapple an opponent and drag him away from a free kick its the refs.

Thought I'd take a look, not for the first time, also not so much stupid drivel on here.

Good result for your lot against an Arlesey team who I've always been impressed with, good set up in Beds, nice people .

Anyway, how's Sammy playing? never forget that Van Basten goal he scored against us first game.

Hows Gilkesy doing?

Keep playing the football, as you're the best team we've played this season.

Cheers,we are playing well at the moment but we are still not consistent enough,sammy is playing well but not scoring as frequently as he was doing earlier in the season,Gilksey is just returning to form after a long injury.Promotion is still a possibility but its not really in our hands,we have to keep winning and hope others keep slipping up like you did on saturday. nice to hear from you,good luck for the rest of the season. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
