Away Travel 2007/08 idea

On the back of the 2007 calendars at the beginning of the year, I have decided to produce an "Away Travel booklet" for next season.

Once the contents have been decided upon, I pull together that info on all clubs in both Southern and Ryman 1st Divs, using Tony's site as a reference. Once it has been decided who is going where I can then produce the booklet.

Any input to what would be good to have in this booklet would be gratefully received, even to say that it is a bad idea.

My thoughts are as follows

A5 in size.

One page per club to include

1. Club colours

2. Address and phone number

3. Satellite photo of ground

3. Distance from Slough

4. Nearest Train Station

5. Road Directions

6. Map

On showing a few people at Walton a small sample of the booklet, the following comments were made.

> Not sure if we need a map (possible copyright issues from internet site)

> How about nearest pubs.

> How about a pdf version to buy on the web, (download and print)

I now open this up to the forum to discuss........

HR - a lot of the information would be on the site anyway and most of it is already? I did a number of documents for each of the divisions including directions, so depending on which route we go down, I may have a lot of information available for you already?

I like the idea of nearest pubs as well as best places to eat etc, for those of us who like to arrive early.

Maybe even a little fact/history of each place as well like 'Slough, home of the Marsbar' just to make it a bit different.

If it's out just before the beginning of the season should be a good fundraiser as well.

We have something like this at Windsor. Add a bit of humour into it rather than just stuff you can pull from the internet! Also train prices, pubs and places to eat that sort of stuff
