IMO I don't think it's a simple as saying just one of the candidates are responsible.

I would say a combination of three are responsible.

Eddie & Roy for signing on players and not telling them about our precarious financial position.

Jarvis and the other mercenaries who jumped ship just for the money.

I don't see really how it's Roy's fault. Ultimately he has been told that the funding for the club was going to come from Martyn Deaner and it hasn't come at the level expected and he has had to cut his cloth accordingly. Deaner has given us 8/9 years of football rather then letting the club die in 97/98. The club is in this position because of bad decisions stretching back for decades. I don't see how apportioning blame for our predicament will help anyone. The idea of this was a bit of joke to blame Metcalfe.

Yes Deaner has given us an extra few years but at what cost? The frivilous spending of the early years (company cars? Chartered flights? Stupidly high wages), lack of a long term plan to get another ground for the five years we stayed at Wexham Park and now we are reaping the benefits of being Deaner's plaything by plunging to the lowest level in our history, further away from having our own home than at any point previous, losing almost two thirds of our fans and now I think we'll struggle to financially put together a team that can stay mid-table in whichever tinpot division we end up in

From being a good Conference club to the lowest point ever i would blame Roy, Deaner and Slough Council for the mess that we are in. God knows where we will play next season or will we even have a team to support, dreading the thought of shareing with the likes of Eton Wick and playing in front of one man and his dog and teams like Binfield but cannot see any other solution. No doubt now more support will be lost as the side heads towards oblivion

Deaner blew his real money in the first couple of seasons trying to win the Ryman Prem. He was let down by daft management and his own enthusiasm. The fundamental errors were:

1) Refusing the option to buy the freehold of the Dolphin Stadium

2) Going into admininstration when Wexham Park was ours which meant the Thornes had to come to the rescue.

The following questions which were sent to Roy in September are just as relevant now if not more so, yet 7 months on there have been no answers from the club to any of these issues.

1. What is Martyn Deaners current position in regard to the club and how much longer can you see this continuing?

2. What actions have/are the club doing to find a permenant ground of our own and what communications have there been with Slough Council?

3. What is your view on the performance of the team so far this season considering that only 3 points have been gained in the first 5 games? (now 4 from 7)(NOW 16 from 34!!!!!!)

4. What are the longterm (3-5 years) objectives of the club?

What are the chances of these being answed - as likly as us staying up!

The management of the club (Deaner & Merryweather) are totaly incompetant and need to go - they have killed this club and the FA should ban them from being involved with any future club as there track record at Wokingham, Newbury, Oxford.... shows!!!!
