on nights like these....

it makes me realise that all the pain and heartache and hard work are worthwhile...two very different but nonetheless talented teams enjoying their evening under the spotlights but also playing under the pressure of wanting to win with superb fans from boths clubs willing and egging them onwards towards victory...

I shall say little about the offical attendance as it beggars belief but what I will say is that the fans.. players.. and staff of both clubs were a credit to essex NL football and indeed ALL NL footie tonight and I take my hat off to them all.. applause applause

no idea what the official attendance was and i care even less.

all that matters is that the hornchurch won that bloody massive trophy against a side that were well up for it. and we still won it.

as you say unc, nights like these...

i quote ferguson...

"football... bloody hell"

applause

Whatever the crowd was it was certainly bigger than the catering staff expected. They had run out of food before half time, but better than Grays last year when they run out before the game started.

It was a fantastic night, and one i will never forget.

i think that in the match programme it said that the East Stand capacity is 2500, well that was nearly full so i reckon the gate was over 2000 possibly 2200, a great crowd, should push the average up a bit for next season. More importantly thouugh, well done to the team, management and fans for last nights victory. Great Wakering came with a game plan and are much improved with two handfulls up front. We didn't play as good as we can but we never gave up and we in my opinion deserved to win.

man of match? probably Dale. Great to see Max and Jen with the cup.

The comps were added, because I had a paid figure as well.

Unless they have not taken into account any tickets sent to the clubs. Honestly not sure.

However I am one person who is always keen to have accurate figures smile

I was amazed at the attendance, but when you read the program notes there was loads of interest from both teams. I thought GWR deserve massive credit, they really pushed us and reduced the mighty urchins to a few chances. Their number 4 was outstanding at the back.

Difficult to pick a MOTM, all the urchins were there and counted, but for my big Jim at the back, barring the one error for whom blame is questionable, was, as always a rock.

So proud to have been there and witnessed such an emotive evenings football and both sets of fans deserved massive credit.

Now lets bring that noise into the ground on saturday and give redbridge the fright of their lives.

I was sitting in front of three Essex referees, who were deep in conversation about the officials.

One says to the other "this is the first cup final, where I have stayed to the end to watch". Must have been good!
