Heybridge 1 Billericay 2

Recommended Posts

What a game!!! What a result!!! I really don't know what to say, I'm all fingers and thumbs on the keyboard. Anyone who doubted the players attitude a couple of weeks ago, can't knock 'em for that performance. Down to 10 men, a penalty and then 1 all, only to come back and get the lead back again!!!

Rob Swaine, what a way to open your goal account!!!

I don't think you can pick any one player...the team deserve a MOTM award for that performance. Oh and I forgot....Ronnie Worster with a superb finger tip save....and Billy Holland so nearly making it 3 - 1 in the last couple of minutes, if not for the post!!! And.......

.....I'm going to lie down. It's getting far to much for me.

Agree with everything there Gazza. Absolute immense performance tonight, and I am so proud of that team. A combination of some great football and a massive amount of "attitude" following Kerrers dismissal.

Too many hero's to pick a MOTM.

If we continue in that spirit we're un-stoppable.

Absolutely outstanding performance. To go and win at Heybridge any day is fantastic, but with 10 men a superb result, and thoroughly deserved.

Well done to Swaine for his first goal for us (shortly followed by his second). Im not gonna pick a MOTM as it was a fantastic effort by all. The work rate was immense, and the length of the ovation that followed the match showed just what we thought of the performance.

Too much to be writing about the match now, probably come back for more in the morning. Support was superb, both in numbers and in voice. Everyone was singing away behind the goal and it was amazing to be part of. Best game in terms of performance result and enjoyment for quite some time.

Huge well done to all, nighty night.

Outstanding.

It was a monumental effort by all of our team and I'm sure it will be a game that's talked about for many years to come. We didn't just hang on with 10 men we battered Heybridge. I think the supporters were bursting with pride at our team's efforts.

If we can maintain that level we won't be far away.

On to the next "cup-final" on Saturday

Well done lads!!

I think I burst...

Not to take anything away from the players but it's gone now and Jason said it all last night, "It's three points" and it's points that win you the League. We have another tough game on Saturday and as much as we're proud of our players for last nights performance, we start all over again at 3pm this Saturday, last nights performance aside (sorry to bring everyone back to the gorund). Saying that, I think the lads themselves can take confiedence from that performance and certainly push on from there.

I've often said it over the past couple of season's that, when our support kicks in, gets behind the players, we help spur the team on. What an example of that last night. Again, we've proved what we can achive, so lets keep this up...every game, get singing, chanting, encouraging...This season has been a fantastic experience for all so far, so lets keep it going until the final kick. Remember, we win and lose as a club and take it from me, the players acknowledge that our performance and effort as supporters is just as important as their performance and effort on the pitch.

Both the team and the supporters were awsome last night...Lets keep it going...see ya at 3pm this Saturday for a repeat effort.

What a fantastic result. When the ref gave that penalty I thought here we go again another contreversial game at heybridge, and we have had a few of those over the years. But no this team is better than that they battled and worked so hard I was nearly the proudest man at scraley road (steve just beat me). Everybody played their part both on the pitch and off. the supporters were awsome and i would like to thank all the team on their behalf for repaying their committment with double that committment on the pitch.

well done evrybody one of the greatest results in our history!!!!!

Top Marks to everyone for last night. The team showed what they are made of and ALL of the players ran their socks off not giving Heybridge the time to make use of the extra space. Great support and great management. What better way to react to the FA. And with Chelmsford only scraping a draw and Boylen getting sent off (Will he get a ban?). Things are looking good!

Very good win for you last night. After the dismissal the players especially the midfield of Dormer, & Whepdale worked there socks off and killed of any threat of a Heybridge attack.

Heybridge were clueless in coming forward in trying to break you down, which in the end mainly ended up with Barber giving it the big hoof upfield to no avail.

I thought the referee got most things right on the night, including the booking of Whepdale took the player with arms up and not the ball. The penalty was definatly a sending off, but from where I was, was it in the box?

It's going to be a very exciting end of season for us all.

Its nice to have an independent opinion, and I wouldn't disagree with any of that.

The whole team worked very hard I thought, and our defending started right up front, on numerous occasions the only Heybridge out-let was Danny Gay.

Our support were worth a man last night.

But it's on to Saturday now and we have to put this win behind us and concentrate on the next game

After a performance like that it is clear that the whole team are working for each-other and giving everything they have. This has to be down to the leadership of Matt Jones and his team which worries me that others may be watching with a view to poaching,....when Steve McClaren loses his job. wink

I've been watching Ricay for about 3 years now and under the circumstances that was the best Performance I've seen the boys turn in. Absolutely Immense! From Ronny in goal to Flacky up top, everyone ran their socks off for the cause (well maybe not Ronny). Onwards to the Lodge on Saturday!
