Trott & Flanagan

People will hate me saying this, but i don't want them here next season, there is no point getting rid of them now because our season is over anyway. But my point is, is that we have the team that should have had a good run in the cups and should be challenging for the title and we didn't have a good run in the cups and we are not challenging for the title. We are not even going to finish in the play-offs now by the looks of things, which isn't good enough.

People will argue that Trott is on a learning curve, but i don't want this club to be a lurning curve for somebody when the club should be doing better then what they are.

I do like Trott and Flanagan, but they are not right for the club and i can't see a bright future under them, maybe Trott could come back a few years down the line when he improves, but not now.

This is nothing against them, but it is for the benefit of the club i believe.

I think you might have opened a can of worms here mate! But as you say, Trotty's naivety has shown through at times. Some of his decisions just scream of inexperience. For example, stripping Proths of the captaincy due to a personal rift, when he is clearly a better captain than Danny (no respect to him, he's just not a captain). It seems like Trotty is just cutting his nose off to spite his face. Personally, I feel that not making the play-offs (which I'm afraid seems the case now) would be a complete failure. Perhaps it would be time to consider the future of our management team?

First issue here "The Captaincy" I think we all agree Danny is not captain material, McKimm is the club captain and will be team captain when he returns, the issue is the vice captaincy and imo it should be Jimmy Jackson, he talks and encourges all the time and has a good presence around him and is level headed ?

Alex, for you to say you dont want them here next season is a big comment to make mate, 10 weeks ago we were flying high in the league (hope you havent got a short memory). We know Trotty has mad some navie remarks, but didnt we expect that being in his first season ? The depth in the squad is a BIG problem and we know he doesnt like relying on the young lads to come in and do a job, however he has setup the res and U18 system (something Kinnear didnt do) and where lies the future in any club - its youth system.

I dont want trotty to go anywhere next season he stays at Margate as a manager NOT player manager. He needs to be looking from the sidelines.

I know where you are coming from Dan, but something seems wrong for us to be continuesly bad for 2 and a bit months and we had the league won a few months back all we had to do is keep the type of form that we had, but we lost and with that came the hopes of promotion. For that to happen something cannot be right.

Despite the dire performance tonight, despite Trotty & Flannagans weird decisions, despite the team not clicking at the moment despite all that I know we can still turn this around and reach the 4th play-off spot.It aint all over yet. Now is the time for Trotty to really earn his wage & I think you will find Alex that come the end of the season you will be eating your words. He is now going to PROVE that he has what it takes. If he dosent then I wil be forced to eat MY words.

Its a bit premature to be asking what you are asking but I respect your comments.Just hold fire & we will make it.Hard to believe after tonight I know but we WILL!

Whilst they are at the club i will support them as i do like them and i believe that one day Trott will be a good manager. Had we have been a club with mid-table expectations i would have been delighted, but the fact is that we have expectations of challenging for the title. For us to be challenging seriously for the title we need to be win every game between now and the end of the season which i know the TEAM can do.

I REALLY HOPE TROTT AND FLANAGAN DO PULL THIS AROUND THOUGH

I have been upbeat about us through this bad patch and all the moaners on here but playoffs are going to be a struggle TC, we need to pull players back in to position keep danny in the middle upfont DONT pull him wide - his not that player. Urgency and movement and spark needs to re-ignite !

I still think Trotty & Mick are the men for the job. It's really disappointing the way the last few results have gone in general but we are paying the price for not expanding the squad around the Jan-Feb time. Other sides competing for the title either added players then or already had big squads. We don't have that luxury and as a result we now have key players that are playing through the pain barrier Saturday-Tuesday with no rest. I can't fault Trotty's signings. He's brought in players of the class needed, but we've just needed another couple of players of the quality of the 1st 11 to give us more depth in the run-in. The only option is to get behind the team as much as possible from now on in to try and get into those play-offs.

I feel a bit stupid now i must admit, because i have just realised something. The first half of the season we were fantastic then it all went wrong because of suspensions and injuries. I have said this because of what has happened to us in the last month or so and not thinking beyond that and i have realised how much Trott and Flanagan have tried to win the league for this club and because of reasons out of their control (budget for more players, which is also out of the clubs control) it has gone wrong.

I really must hold my breathe for longer and I must apologised to Trott and Mike for this pathetic outburst

last nigts performance was the same as saturday complete dogs muck.we should have lost by 3 goals at least.our players were a yard slower and half as commited as the opposition.it was like watching paint dry except for the last 2 minutes.a total waste of time and money. bye bye for this season

We can talk about it going wrong with suspensions etc, but all the players are now back and there just isn't any motivation in the team. I listen to robin Trott on the interviews and he fills me with confidence at the way he speaks. So why is going so wrong on the pitch. I travelled down on Saturday full of confidence after the 5-1 victory, although only Leyton, the announcement of Phase 1 of the re-build and thought the players should be really up for this game now. And even for the first 20 minutes we looked like our old selves playing good flowing, passing football. Then 1-0 and totally different team, hoofing the ball up field to nobody and when we did pass going woefully short of any Margate player. Why, oh why, put Hockton as captain. You need someone who can rally the players, shout encouragement, and ensure players are in position. Why doesn't Trotty just do it, he's the manager for goodness sake. Blaming the suspensions is rubbish, we've taken 5 points from the last 24 which by any standards is relegation form. I drove back Saturday totally gutted. If I had seen a team full of fight playing good football but beaten by a better team I would be fine, but we are completely lost at the moment. Lets face it, it is not the first time this season, remember that dire performance against Potters Bar. It would have been easier to take if we hadn't been top for so long and in the knowledge that we can play great football. If we had been just off the play-offs plodding away with a chance for next season most supporters would have settled for that but this is so disappointing. If we couldn't do it this season with the team we've got, on paper, is there any chance next season.

i think for Trotts firts season as Manager he set a too higher aim for himself and the club. the team we have got could of(possibly can) reach promotion this year. but we need a manager who knows from experience what is need to motivate and manage these players. no offence to R.T he will be a brilliant manager and despite the few problems we've had he is a good manager. but we need someone who knows what it takes. i think he just set a too higher aim for an inexperienced manager.

It's all well and good setting up a reserves and U18's, but only if you have the bottle to use such players. There are possibly half a dozen players from the Res/U18 that are good enough for a chance in the first team. There are also players at even lower levels than this having trials for top quality clubs. If your not going to utilise what you have why bother??

There is a huge difference between the level of football that the reserves and u18's are playing compared to the level that the first team are playing at.

I agree that we should use some of the reserve and u18 players, but they may not be good enough. Dolton wasn't good enough for a starting place and was just about good enough for this level and when i saw him play for the reserves he was immense. Shows the gap between the first team and reserves.

Agree with Alex totally. You can't just throw players that are completely untried in at a crucial time like this. Don't get me wrong, the reserves have been doing okay but noone in there from the games I've seen has made me sit up and think woah, throw them in the first team now. There's more work to be done from those lads before they deserve a shot in the Ryman Premier. It's a huge step up from Kent League Div 2. At least the likes of Wisker, Smith, Bagley have been training with the first team for a year. Those lads look a class above when they get a reserve run out.
