Walton & Hersham - Celebrations???

fROM THE OBSERVER:

COACH Mark Betts has promised to crack open the champagne he won at a salsa dance-off if Slough Town beat Walton & Hersham tonight.

Bottom-of-the-table Slough travel to face the side one place above them in the Ryman Premier League as they look to pick up their first win in 13 games.

And the Rebels will have an extra incentive after taking part in a Strictly Come Dancing-style competition last night at the West Wing Arts Centre in Stoke Road.

Betts was crowned winner after fighting off fierce competition from the likes of striker Matty Miller and manager Darron Wilkinson and says he’ll share his winnings with the team if they pick up a result.

The match kicks off tonight at 7.45pm at Stompond Lane, Walton-on-Thames.

well then, thats it. after the highs of a couple of years ago the club has hit rock bottom.

i think it was pretty obvious to all from an early point that relegation was unavoidable after the exodus of players, as we seem to have exchanged talent for effort over the middle of the season. a club with our money problems was never really going to survive a season like with with 3 managers, 40+ players and no money.

together we stand (i hope), up the rebels!

117 years? you been knocking about that long? all joking aside, you can go out now for the rest of the season that there is no 'pressure' on you, and hopefully you will see some better performances, but then again, you could say why couldnt we play like that for the whole season.

i think the important thing now is to build for next season, the supporters need to push the club management for change NOW, otherwise we face another summer of uncertainty.

we also need to keep going as a group of fans, continue the singing and shouting and clapping for the players that play for the shirt and put in all the effort, starting on saturday against afc.

You'll enjoy next season if your in the southern league. Okay not many grounds with cover behind the goal but 'freindly' clubs rather than going to dives like Leyton!

It was the usual tale of lack of concentration and a failure to take any of the very limited chances we managed to create. Highlight was return of the mighty Andy Deaner to help out up front. Put himself about and showed great enthusiasm and am sure will be useful over the next few weeks helping out Haley and Miller.

I don't think there was any pressure on anyway. The writing has been on the wall for a long time and we're seeing out the season with a team that would probably struggle one level lower, possibly two.

Bring on two victories over Wimbledon on Saturday!
