Thats is intersting.

I thought i read on here two weeks ago that in the same paper RT stated that our squad was good enough and thats why he had not signed anybody.

I guess we all send out mixed messages when under presure though.

Erm, well who's responsible for that then??

You appear to be inferring that it's Robin's own fault that the squad has no depth to it. But he can only work within the budget he is given by the club, and as he does not hold the purse strings in that regard, it can't be entirely his fault can it (in my opinion).

Good post AB, exactly right in my opinion. I think what Trotty said Michael was words like "He has tried to sign other players with no success but thinks that the squad he has should be ok", but dont quote me on that wink

Other clubs managed to sign players then.

Part of the job is being successful in all aspects of the job.

I think we suffer a bit from RT's lack of contacts.

Note how nearly everyone we have signed has played with RT before,or is very well known to RT/others(Jay).

To be fair, there may be merit in 'better the devil you know',and most of Rt's signings have been good ones,so credit to him for not wasting money on 'chsances'.(as per last season)Lets hope Haworth is a good signing aswell.

It would still be refreshing to see a good player signed from outside what appears to be a fairly close knit circle maybe.

The only player i can think of from outside the close knit family is SCS .Did he not write in asking for a trial. And look what's happened there now.

From the outside, the apparent 'nepotism' is of slight concern.

Be fair Michael, it's his first season as a manager so we can't expect him to have loads and loads of contacts. Quite rightly, imo, he has stuck to those players he has played with or knows well. Surely you can't say Sappleton has not been a good signing? I sometimes wonder what you want from him I must admit?
