Gavin - Yes I agree, Lato won't be best pleased when he returns from Poland and finds out they have lost two easy looking home games in his absence.

Although we had that blip in form during November and more recently there have been valid excuses such as injuries, the loss of Lee Scott, teams poaching our players by offering them small fortunes, the Cockfosters fiasco on 30 December and generally the Damien Thorn factor that follows us around however I still feel we are not out of the running yet and it certainly won't be over till the fat lady sings. Have you received a postcard from Lato yet by the way, I take it he enjoyed the 5-0 win on Saturday.

Not out of the running? How do you work that out Rhodes? You can only get another 18 points this season if you win the rest of your games. You're 14 points behind Brimsdown and 11 behind Ampthill. Added to which your 8 behind Cockfosters and 6 behind Stony Stratford who have 3 games in hand.

You won't finish any higher than 5th. The four teams above you would need to suffer a major loss of form for you to catch them.

Surprisingly rhodes, Poland is not a technological backwater and through the wonders of e mail and the internet I was able to find out the scores. yes two disappointing results from two on paper winnable games but football isn't played on paper. However at manor unlike you rhodes we don't make excuses as to why we lost and will acknowledge the perfromance of the other side rather than claim they cheated their way to victory as you have alluded to in the past (Brache Sparta springs to mind)

I always take a defeat on the chin and am the first to congratulate the other team if they beat us fair and square, I didn't say that Brache Sparta cheated their way to victory in November however they were hell bent on beating us following the legendary 8-2 game in August and, shall we just say, used the hallowed Foxdell Recreation Ground 'turf' very much to their advantage.

Backtracking of the highest order there, Rhodes. Everyone remembers that you claimed that they deliberately damaged their pitch it order to stop you playing your Brazil 1970 football!

I didn't begrudge Brache Sparta their 3-0 victory in November but something didn't smell quite right, I couldn't prove they had doctored their pitch but there wasn't a blade of grass on it and it was like a ploughed field, I looked long and hard from the touch line incase I could see horses hooves with track marks behind them. I thought Brache would be a threat following that game and make a challenge for promotion but they fell away tamely and are certainly not the team they were last season.
