Wombles reprieved

So what is different from the situation with Alty last season. Wrong decision. One law for the rich and one law for the poor. The rules are the rules (even if they are ridiculous in this instance). The Ryman clubs and the league set them so don't moan if you break them.

If they need changing, which they clearly do, do it before the season commences. Simple.

I support and help our club on the basis that we do things properly, we aren't run by a dodgy businessman (not that I'm suggesting you are) and we don't fiddle gate figures. You bet I'm holier than thou about it, partly because it sounds like we are and

Part of a post following the Trophy tie. AFC Wimbledon are are club who do things properly. You only have to look on the FA web site disciplinary section to see that Welsh clubs are governed by the Welsh FA and so players from Welsh clubs are in a foriegn FA. If there was free movement between the home nations we would have a British FA and no England / Scotland / Wales / N Ireland. That is why (some) consider it obvious that players need clearance between the 'nations'. Do we not have four seats on FIFA or UEFA because of the history of our FA's? Is this not part of the reason Scotland do not want to be part of a GB olympic team, for fear of losing their independent seat?

The FA state that this was an unusual case so agreed to reduce the entirely correct penalty dished out by the Ryman. About a year ago they did not see the need to reduce Altrincham's points deduction when they made the 'unusual' signing of a player from another English club, Accrington, who failed to do the checks. At that time they did not have the potential of the 'West Ham' issue hanging over them, questions in the house and threats of legal action.

What if we would have won the league on the same technicality last season, how would the FA have reacted then??????

With 3 Northern monkey teams and ourselves in the Conf relegation zone we could be the only conf team relegated to the conf south

If the strongest teams go up (Clearly Histon and Salisbury) and we don't get Chelmsford up then it'll be a weak league next season!

Basically I'm trying to say I don't want Chelmsford up because they will probably be quite good!

Recent results don't suggest that!!!

Chelmsford are too inconsistent. They're superb at home at times but their away record is not really promotion material.

You really need to go to the likes of Folkestone and Leyton and get results if you want to win promotion and they haven't done that.

I wish I had that feeling as our away form is not consistent enough and losing our star striker Nathan Elder to Brighton in the transfer window and the players to brought into replace him have not cut the mustard unfortunately but we are very good at home only losing our first game home game of the season on Saturday so with home advantage in the play offs we may still get up to play you lot next season

Chris Whelpdale for starters. You don't attract the interest of Swansea City if you can't cut the mustard.

Chris Whelpdale is undoubtedly the best player I have seen in a decade or so of supporting ricay but he plays out wide and the fact that hes the second highest score with ten goals and only arrived in October despite signing pre season as Maldon who threw a paddy over his contract (should have just played him bugger to have proper registration ohh no wait we don't have all of afc's lovely contacts).

Our leading scorer Joe Flack has 15 but the other strikers Bill Holland has 4 from 20 and Ricky Burbridge has 2 from 17.

I have a feeling that when Whelps goes unless another gem is plucked from the lower leagues it will be a finish a little short of the play offs or in the event of promotion a bottom half finish
