I reckon three up front a recipe for disaster.

You have to take control of midfield to win games.(not there but is that not what Heybridge did).

Two up front with someone to help Danny-now thats whats needed imo.Just such a shame its taken this long to resolve as most of us were saying the same in October despite Danny's glut of goals.

How many more goals woul DH have got if he had someone to support him.

How many more goals would Pinnock,McKimm,Saunders,JJ have got if someonewas laying off balls .

How many more games would we have won.

Can't turn back time unfortunately.

Whether Haworth is the right man/quality to do this remains to be seen, but we wish him well.

Goalkeeping situation.

Charlie Mitten hasn't done that badly since coming into the team but I do feel a return of Scott could get us back on a winning run. It did once before & I think it could again tonight. As I say no disrespect intended to Charlie but I do have a feeling that those around him feel more secure with Scott as the last man.(No proof of that, just an inkling I have thats all).

Do you know, I could have sworn that we won 5-1 last week and Charlie was in goal - did I miss something?

You obviously didn't read my post properly did you.I mentioned that he hadn't done bad since he came in & I wasn't apportioning blame on him for any of the goals that went in either it but as an all round athletic keeper with tremendous shot stopping abilities the others might feel Scott to be safer keeper behind them thats all.I also said that that was personal belief & I could be wrong.I'm not getting at Charlie here, thats not my intention and one game, even a 5-1 victory dosen't make a player.
In the past Scott has never let us down.Even the game where he was apportioned blame by Trotty he wasn't at fault.i.m.o. In fact the first goal in that game was down to Trotty back peddling & not down to Scott.(I noticed that Trotty didn't drop himself)
If we had any other keeper here no doubt I would be all in favour of Charlie being between the sticks but we have an exceptional one in Scott & whether the players feel more secure because of him I don't know for sure but I most certainly do.Again thats not because Charlie is poor, far from it,but because we have one of the best keepers ever to have donned a Margate shirt in Scott. We all know we will be hearing about him in the future ding well higher up the leagues.Thats a certainty.Again in my opinion.I just feel he has been harshly treated.
If Charlie is picked tonight I will be o.k. about it but if Scott were in goal I would feel even happier thats all.The change could help too.Charlies had a decent run now I think & has overall done well.

Yes I did Cookie,

I just get fed up with the debate upon whether SCS or Charlie is the better of the two. Who knows, the 5-1 win could have been the start of a winning run - let's face it I think a lot of us thought that we had turned the corner in that game but judging by the following game (and I am allowing for the difference in opposition of course)it wasn't to be. I just don't think that the goalkeeper is going to make such a big difference as you do especially when the Manager is in front of him and has a big say in picking the side.

Its not about who is better its about the confidence factor & the knock on effect it has that goes with being out there..thus allowing for the rest of the players to be more adventurous. If the players are happy with either being out there then there isn't a problem after all & I'm happy to go with either being in goal in that case.

Will say no more on the subject.

Now how about this new chap. Anyone think he will go straight into the side tonight or will Trotty hold him back & see how the game pans out first?

I think he will start on the bench mate. They have had no training sessions with him ? Starting line up will be

Mitten

Oates Trott Sapps Skinns

Pinns Proths Standen JJ

Hockton Saunders

He will bring Rob on to see how he adapts and Whisker will come on if proths is not pulling his wait IMO

Margate win 3-1 Att 487

I think you'll proberbly be near the mark with that line-up Danny.

Incidentally, anyone know what the problem was with Pat on Saturday. Was he injured, ill or what? Heard no mention of it anywhere or did I miss it being mentioned somewhere.Lets hope he's back tonight!

My team would be-

SCS

Oates Donovan Sappleton Skinner

Pinns Proths Standen Jacko

Hockton Saunders

Trott will have to drop himself after the man of the match preformance from donovan on saturday and Pat has to come starght back in to the side Trott is still a good player but i think tonight he will have 2 go with Donovan and Sappleton and maybe bring himself on if either one isnt playin well.

Getting back to the goalkeeper situation ( no disrespect to Charlie who has done a good job ) but how can you leave a keeper like SCS on the bench when he is in the Nominations for the Goalkeeper of the year , that has to say alot to be in the running for the award . I can`t understand Trotty and why he will drop him , anyone in fact who makes a mistake and has to pay for it by being dropped until further notice . I don`t dislike RT at all , but some of the rules he has set are not working out on the pitch but this is probably due to inexperience as a rookie manager . Up the Gate.
