The "Huddle"

I'm sure it was noticeable the other day the "Huddle"(or whatever its called)that Heybridge did immediately before kick-off.Looked to me to be a good thing to do. Shows them in unison & on the same wavelength & if the right words are said in that "huddle" then any team should have fresh in the memories the kind of game that is required of them from the off.I know it might only be a little bit of "playing mind games" similar to that of the All blacks & their "Haka" or just embroidery if you like, but it does look good i.m.o.& it does show that the team are as one from the off.Alright they get there instructions in the dressing room but a last minute reminder would help wouldnt it?

Personally I would like to see our lads doing the same. Not just before kick of but also just before the second half kick-off too.

I realise other clubs are also doing this now & some have for some time but for us to do it I think would bode well & who knows could get us a goal in front sooner.

Is it meaningless or does it really spur the team on from the off & get them into the right frame of mind?

Admittedly it didn't work for them from the off on Saturday as we were the ones in control early on but it certainly showed in their workrate & defiance for the rest of the game & in the result.DOES it help or not? Can it achieve better results by adding this to our game? What do you think?

Heard it was grim.... Coincidently I travelled with Basildon Utd's ressies to Heybridge Swifts on Saturday. Nice clubhouse and friendly people, seems the same can't be said about their fans!!!!

I only tummy rub when I know people really well...

But I am always up for hugging a nice football player.

We did it in Connie South and it did us no good at all.

I rather like the way the guys all go round and shake each others hands and say encouraging things to each other. Bit more stiff upper lip, British, and manly. They can all hug each other when we score.

I dont think it looks silly myself but the point of it is, does it help get the team "up for it" immediately prior to kick-off.
If it does then who cares what it looks like.
