Sorry mate but i think the whole thing stinks. We(Ramsgate)signed two players that was playing in Wales, and completed the necessary documents,so if a small club like ours can then so should the big boys!(The registration forms even asks if the players previous club was outside England.)You might think 18 points seemed a bit harsh but rules are rules. What is unacceptable is the fact the 18 points gained from the 11 matches they played with a ilegal player is that they are letting them keep 15 of them when the teams they played dont get any.

It is annoying - once again rules are bent just cos some two bit team who think they're something they're not think it's 'unfair'. Well, boo them - the rule book is there for a frickin reason!!!

I think many of us agree that the (now old) penalty is/was severe and the rules should be changed in the summer.

The issue it seems that many on here are annoyed about is that AFC Wimbledon broke the current rule and so should face the penalty that was written in the rules at the time the infringement took place, however severe and harsh it may be.

From the other view, the teams in the play-offs (whoever they are) at the end of the season will be their overall by right.

Alex, you know as well as I and many others who have visited Kingston that they ARE an arrogant club. They even had the cheek to steal the Wimbledon FC badge, thieving chavvy scumbags!!!

It does put promotion back in our own hands regardless.

If we win our game in hand, we go one point ahead of them.

That surely must be our final chance to mess up being promoted this year.

Pretty obvious that Wimbledon knew something last week when they were signing 4/5 players in their 'promotion push'

Our badge is based on the historic Wimbledon coat of arms and is subtly different to the old Wimbledon FC badge. The council and the heraldry people were happy about us using it because we represent the community, they refused Franchise the right because they didn't.

Don't let that get in the way of a good rant though even though it is quite irrelevant to the argument.

Complete joke. So what if it was an administrative error? Rules are rules - I wonder what the outcome would have been if it had been a club of much less stature - such as Staines for example? The FA has just set a precedent - 3 points is pitiful. Absolute disgrace, the original deduction should have stood.

okay...purely hypothetical of course but here's the scenario...

experienced club sec forgets to seek international clearance...player is well behaved and never gets booked....several weeks after said memory lapse experienced club sec realises his error....

oh fck me he says to himself....

he's played 9 games thats 27 points...I know...he never gets booked anyway... I 'll scam it until next season and then there's fck all they can do about it....

said club sec then gets rumbled because of a booking and feigns indignation whilst his outraged club use their muscle to bully the league and the appeal goes there way....

is that cheating....?

purely hypothetical of course and the characters in this scenario bear no relation to any real experiencd club secs.... grin
