Looking on the bright side!

MFC Forever

After seeing how the mood has changed with the results from Tuesday to Saturday, lets look at things again from a bit more of a positive angle!

a) We are in sixth position, just 5 points of a play-off place! We would have taken this last season!

B) We could be in a play-off place should AFC Wimbledon lose their appeal (which to me seems likely) on Monday.

c) We saw on Tuesday against Leyton how well we can play and we showed patches of this great form. Also, we did look like we could score a goal today, whereas in games before Leyton this seemed less likely to occur!

d) The players on the bench are starting to improve a lot with their growing experience, such as Bagley, Smith and Wisker who are all showing improvement imo.

Don't get me wrong, I acknowledge some of the negatives being siad. I agree that the squad depth maybe hit us hard when the suspensions took effect. Recent results certainly have been bitterly disappointing, and we should have been in a much better position at this stage.

I know we have to be critical at times, and some of it may be justified as we expect what we know the team are capable of. But lets be positive and back the team at this vital time in the season and look on the bright side of things a bit more when results aren't going the right way!!

I am one of the first to preach continuity, but sometimes you get caught in the quicksand and just can't get out without a serious change

Two wins in ten is a disaster for any side, let alone one with title aspirations.

Its not that we may miss out on promotion, its just that i for one, can't see where we are going on the playing front. It seems that things/bad luck have caught up with us.Even on our brightest days at Worthing and Horsham,we were lucky to enjoy those big wins.

I think the phrase these days is 'wake up and smell the coffee'.

I hope i am so very wrong

I am afraid I cannot see things that way, Michael, we have had a cracking good season so far, and I see no reason why we cannot enjoy some great matches to the end of the season.

You have to admit we have made some massive gains on last season, at this point we were looking down the barrel of relegation, and wondering whethter we would win any matches at all. Now we are still in with a shout of the playoffs, we have games in hand, and we know because we have seen it that this team is capable of great wins and attractive football.

The fact that that was not on show today spoke more of how the opposition play than of how we do.

I still think there is a lot more to still be had this season, and will go into every game believing that.
