its pretty quiet on the canvey forum....

Those that went are probably drowning their sorrows at Park Lane while watching the England game or hanging themselves with their Club shirts!

projected final table.

Can't see it finishing like that. We still have Maldon away and Sudbury at home to play. Plus we haven't really had much fortune against Arlesey or Potter's Bar this season. Would not be surprised to see us finish 6th. Rumour has it the Board don't want us to go up this season, victims of our own success and all that.

sorry matt...was just ribbing....

all FC boards want their clubs to stay where they are for financial reasons....and in all probablity they are right...

but....

footie fans do not think like that.....we wanna win at all costs and enjoy the glory....so it ever was and will always be...

I cant beleive the directors of a small football club would deliberately tell the team/management to start losing rather than get in the play-offs/promoted for financial reasons. Surely they will look at extra revenue from the play-offs ans bigger gates next year in the Ryman Premier. Although judging by our recent performances I can understand why some people think that.

Nothing to do with your comment Urchin, but there is certainly a buzz around the club that there is no money here and this has cetainly affected the team or else Batchy has been told by the Board to take their foot off the gas cos we cant afford to go up ! Whatever, there is a bit of dispondancy about the place at the moment.

don't see whay mate...you have done well after the changes and look likely for a play off place...batch knows his stuff and on drier spring pitches his team would...in my opinion...be favourites for the play offs.....have faith and whatever happens you have had a good 1st season under the new board...

That sounds like a load of cr@p!!
The only time we're dispondant is when people like you put posts like this on the forum . Surely IF and I mean IF that stuff was true then it shouldn't have been put on this forum now should it!!We need to get behind the lads and continue giving them positive vibes and our support rather than all the negative stuff that we have all been guilty of giving them lately!!

Things are not that bad. Personally I doubt the HX fans would want us to air our dirty laundry on this forum. If anything needs to be said say it on the Canvey forum rather than here.

And the only air of dispondancy at the club is because we had to watch that [****!!****] that was England tonight. We might all moan but we're back the following week to follow the team.

That is true for many a fan of all clubs. But coming to the close of the season and with so much money already spent since last July, performances displayed by Canvey against Wakering etc. will continue to dwindle as the punters begin to keep their cash for the next season. I'll be interested to see how many fans come to Park Lane on Good Friday.

(Sorry Hx fans, laundry will firmly go back in the drier).

bollox,i heard from someone on the terraces that canvey don't want to go up as it seems like they want to do a "wimbledon" and stablise themselves in the ryman one north,if that is true then the people in charge are commiting commercial suicide as next leagues ryman prem will be twice as big as the conference south for essex clubs as it will be made up of some of the biggest non league clubs outside of the conference

Possibilities:- margate,bromley,maidstone,dartford,enfield t,afc sudbury,canvey island,AFC wimbledon,chelmsford,billericay,AFC Hornchurch,Basingstoke,thurrock,Harlow t and others.(i have probably forgot a fe as well!)

in the conference south you have teams that bring virtually no support, ryman prem will be differnt.

Commercial suicide if you ask me and seeing as it was talked about today before i saw this i can only conclude this is true, after all there is no smoke without fire.....
