results today and the run

mixed bag today:

burton 2-1 morecambe (draw could have been better)

Stevenage 0-1 alty (brilliant result)

York 1-1 exeter (Im not sure about this one, thought York, being furthest ahead, we would want them to win all apart from against us)

 

Right that leaves us 4 points outside with a game in hand over morecambe and Exeter.

 

Now the run in: we have daggers and York away, tough but we have 7 games against lower half/bottom sides, 5 of which are at home. I know bottom sides fighting for survival but we should be winning 5/5 at home as a playoff contender?

So by my reckoning a win tuesday and we can do it, anything else tuesday and its definately gone.

Ps: I have looked at the other teams games and am aware of them, just too much to post!

Given the last three home matches 5/5 doesn't look very likely, however with all the other sides in contention dropping points we cannot be out of contention just by not winning on Tuesday, the other contenders have to win to put us out of the race.
By the same token if we win on Tuesday and so do the sides above us we won't close in on them.

It was a common consensus that Burton was a 'must-win game', and then after that was only a draw the same was said about last night's. These draws have posed more questions than they've given answers, thanks to favourable results from other teams' matches.

 

One thing is certain though - to stand a chance of the top 5, we will have to actually win some more games eventually.
