Sudbury travelling support - please note

From the Sudbury forum >>> For those of you driving today, the M25 is closed between the M11 junction and Junction 29 (Upminister). Apparently not expected to open until early afternoon. If its any help I will pick up the A130 at Chelmsford to Basildon and pick up the A127 from that road. I expect it will be busy but should be moving.

 

 

I picked up this message from the Sudbury forum - the route I would advise is - go to Chelmsford via Halstead and Braintree, and then pick up the A12 - this will bring you out to the M25 at the Brentwood junction. Continue on the A12 to the Gallows Corner roundabout - there is only one roundabout - and turn left onto the A127. Take the right hand slip road at the next set of traffic lights (about half a mile) and follow through to Hornchurch (about two miles), then follow the signs towards Upminster. Go under the Upminster Bridge station, then take second left.

 

Alternatively if the M25 is open, take the M25 to the next junction (ie head towards the QE2 Bridge) - then come off at the A127. Follow towards London for about half a mile, then turn off at the left filter into Wingletye Lane - this is just past the first petrol station on the left.

 

Carry on - keep to 30 mph, there are speed cameras - then at the traffic lights (about a mile and a half) turn left, go under Upminster Bridge then take second on the right and you are at the Bridge.
