£70,000 and it's ours...

Not seen the article myself but suspect that it is something along the lines of: "If STFC pay the [disputed] £70,000 owed to Byron Thorne he will consider allowing them to return to WP on a leasehold basis."

So we are talking about finding 70k before even negotiating the terms of the lease.

A couple of small points to clarify. Cllr MacIsaac wrote to me last Monday and what he said was pretty much in line with what is in the article except that he hasn't spoken to Byron directly, ratherhe spoke on the phone with Byron's legal officer. He believes that the information was sent to Roy in January.

Curiouser and Curioser......

Why has Roy got involved in this?

Surely the £70K debt is owed, if it is, by FRUS Limited, which owned STFC. HAs FRUS passed ownership of STFC to TVSLL or is STFC now an entity of its own? If Bernard Devine has "withdrawn" i.e. resigned from TVSLL, why was that? If STFC has been passed on why would Roy as a Director of TVSLL, a company nothing to do with the debt be arguing about invoices to support the claim for £70K? In any case FRUS is about to be struck off the Companies register.......

Mr Deaner is not a director of either company, and apparently does not own STFC, since it would appear one of the companies does, and does not appear to be donating money any more hence the financial problems.

If this is the case, why doesn't Roy as the sole Director go to find a business entity of some sort prepared to bail STFC out, like then business man prepared to help out as suggested elsewhere?

It is time he came clean and told everybody what is REALLY going on......before STFC collapses completely? At least then everybody would know what they were up against and could do something to help rather than just sitting watching in horror as the inevitable seems to be unfolding as the club staggers from crisis to crisis. It is the least that the loyal fans, players and staff deserve.

Couldn't agree more Andrew. I think the whole ownership of the club issue is now so clouded that no-one really knows what is going on. Martyn Deaner continues to support the club financially but has greatly reduced the amount of cash he regularly contributes (he has even been seen at games recently)!

Yes 70,000 to play at a rat stinking infested ground that will need another 100,000 pounds to get it ready ! so we pay 70,000 then have to spend another amount to get a stadium ready ,we left in good order and looked after , also the thornes got 47 acres for a sum of around 300,000 pounds that in the future will be worth millions apon millions...

I personally think we kept a stadium in good order and now are being asked to pay 70,000 on a say so without any invoices ! the only invoice i saw was a gas bill presented to the club for 38,000 pounds for gas used ! in a time where the club house had no heating or hot water ! for 3 of the 5 season...talk about taking the piss !

I would rather put the 170,000 to finance a new statdium plus grants..would give us a better start and get away from the return to wexham park brigade , where we could and would be moved on again ...
