Mills busy before deadline

Tamworth manager Gary Mills has been busy ahead of today's deadline for registering players - adding a proven goalscorer and two defenders to his squad.

All three are players Mills and his assistant Darron Gee have been tracking and monitoring for some time and they felt that now was the time to move ahead of the 5pm cut-off.

Front man Justin Jackson comes with a wealth of experience. A prolific striker, he has been playing in Australia but knows the Conference well and Tamworth are just waiting on international clearance.

Jackson's previous clubs include Accrington Stanley, Doncaster, Rushden & Diamonds, Morecambe, Rotherham and Notts County.

To bolster his defensive options, Mills has brought in on loan Ryan Lynch, a pro with Coventry City, and Curtis Ujah, who was with Reading but left by mutual consent in January.

It's looking more like we'll be battling the likes of Cambridge, Grays and Halifax to stay up (assuming that is still possible).
