Just a thought. Are the Monies to be collected in side or outside the ground. If inside as anyone asked the Club if they have any objection?.

It will be done just outside the ground near the entrance Graeme.Couldn't get in contact with the club(no-one in the office when I called)for permission(bearing in mind it wasn't actually for the club itself.)

Ian you are quite right about the running cost of a site the size the fans focus is. I know I own one of the biggest Adult dating sites in the world and we have our own dedicated server the costs are stupid but we do charge an annual fee where as you put all this work in for a free subscription. Other site are now charging as they get to big so hopefully you will get good enough donations to stop that happening. Keep up the good work and I for one will be donating

Myself & Tony M didn't deal with the brick money & I'm sure its still there somewhere but you can be assured that every penny & every pound collected will be forwarded to the appropiate person that it was raised to help.

May I just say that it was amazing just how many gave "something" coppers,10ps,20ps,50ps,pound coins & even the odd few who put fivers in.Bearing in mind the amount of forum visitors is very small in comparison to regular visitors to HP it was typical of Margate fans that non-forum visitors also put their hands into their pockets.Some were young some were middle-age & some were elderly, a good mix.Of those contributing some hadn't even heard of this forum or hadn't even got a computer at all so more credit goes to those who even then still put their hands in their pockets for a good cause.Many thanks to those forum users that were generous on the day too as it at least means we have done something in return for the hard work put in by Ian W on our behalves.

It would be nice if other forums that use FANSFOCUS could do a similar thing but thats down to them & not for any of us to say whether they should or shouldn't.

As I say Tony M will be back with the totals shortly & I'm sure he will convey his thanks to you all too.

I hope that Ian W will be pleased that whilst the amount may not have been substantial it will at least give him some small reward for all his efforts on behalf of the "fans of Margate FC".

I'd like to thank Tony M for initiating this in the first place & all credit should be directed to him,together with those that contributed.

In the future should you wish to donate further to this service, a reminder that a link is provided on this site specifically for just that.

Would be fantastic if it even encouraged one or two others who did not know of the forum to post, as the wider spread of views the better the debate imo.

 

A quick word of praise for Jake aswell who took the trouble and effort to set up an alternative site when FF had some difficulties and as others have said,avoided the feeling of having our arms chopped off as we could continue debate elsewhere.
