Ken Tomlinson asked me to post, to say, The Game on Sunday as been postponed. They have been ordered to play Lordswood(i believe) away instead in the John Ullman cup. They also have an away fixture on Monday evening at Croydon.

I hope i have posted this correctly as i didn't have time to write it down before the lights went out.

Good luck to the guys in all the games.

Not easy for these younger guys to fit in around work/studies either ,no matter how much you love the game.Credit to them and the 'managers' (is that stil Tom Hickman ?)

Mostly Phil as Tom has only turned up once this year. Nigel has thrown his hat into the ring and been there when all else fails, he also runs the line nearly every game, not the easiest thing. Phil is doing a great job concidering the team has only trained in a gum since last year. In fact tonight they are able to train up at Tivoli Park since November.

It is true to say that they would have been in top shape if they had been able to train properly and more to the point play regularly, only 4 game this year and 2 of those were in Jan. Whilst other teams in the league have played 12-13 or 14 games Margate have only played 9 (5th place says a lot with 5 games in hand) Last year I believed they could get to at least one final. Last Sundays 2-0 win really reflects on a poor Herne Bay rather than a great Margate, I`m not saying Margate did not have to try but a lot of the Gates moves failed after only a couple of passes. Maidstone would have been a better game to judge the lads on. So to the change. Yep, away to Lordswood in the 3rd round of the Ullmann Cup on Sunday. I could not find a Croydon fixture which would have to be a Cup game as they do not go that far in the League. I would think it more likely to be Reserves as I can`t see the U18s playing two games in two days.

It`s a credit to the lads that they have stayed together, some could have gone elsewhere over the last few months to get a game. They are a great bunch and it has to be said that some have real promise, it would not surprise me if at least one got a chance in the first team one day.

Pitty the support has not always been there.

I'm sure the support will come.

There seems to be a bit of genuine interest in the reserves now;and in time, the same will happen to the U18's i'm sure.

From afar, it seems to me, that everyone has to bleat at the club to publicise the U18's and reserves more, by publishing fixtures on the website-home/front page;and devoting a paragraph every week to the teams on website and in programme.

Sad to say that Margates site used to out shine that of Ramsgate, now they are leading the way in promoting the Youth and Reserve teams. The shame is that the u18 team only lasts for a year. Last season the team did not do so well and there was even less interest. It`s a case of catch it before it`s too late.

Can confirm Bluebloods posting. U18s do have an away game v Croydon Monday night, yuk! can only think that its the Westview Cup. Those players who can make it will be leaving Hartsdown ground at 4 pm be nice to wave them off, better still why not travel up!!!! Hope to see you there.

Another reason why the fixtures should be published on the main site.

It may just be that we have one or two supporters in the area-unlikely but you never know.

Two weeks ago for example, i was on business in Croydon and am due there again in two weeks. (yes-i know i'll be late for the game )

You never quite know whose where .
