Former Ramsgate star Simon Petit enters the final round of negotiations subject to a move to Margate.

To say goodbye to Petit he was awarded the captaincy as a gesture of good will by manager Jimmy Ward in the friendly with a Moroccan XI.

It looks as if Petit is about to sign for us as other Gate fans were talking about it the other night before Rob Butler entered the ground, we will just have to wait and see.

How do you know he's signed for Gate Rob, there nothing on Rams website, is he not on contract?

He told me on Tuesday. It is something to do with his father in law to be being a backer at the club

He wasnt with Jimmy. He was with his future-father-in-law, who "donates" to the club. I asked Simon out right and he said "Iam out of contract at the end of the season, not sure whats happening then. Trouble is I dont want to go all that way to train". Watch this space then.
