Tonight's games

Morecambe currently lead Aldershot 2-0, Weymouth are a goal up at Woking which would put them above us, while Exeter and Stevenage are both still drawing their games 0-0.

Wonder what odds you'd've got on Weymouth hauling their way back up the table!

Good night for us overall - Morecambe still winning (2-1 now), but Stevenage losing to Daggers, Exeter losing at Northwich, Weymouth lost 3-2, and Kiddy only drawing at Tamworth.

Putting everyone to 38 games - assuming all win their games in hand, would leave us 2 points off 5th - ok, games have to be won, but it really does look like it gong down to the wire.

Last night's results could hardly have been better for us. Discounting D&R who are looking near certainties to win the title, the only near rival of ours who played to win was Morecambe. D&R stopped Stevenage's good run of form. Defeats for Exeter, Aldershot and Weymouth (who were 2-0 up at home v Woking but lost 2-3) and only a point for Kiddy at Tamworth, show that other teams are failing to consolidate their positions too.BUT it is no substitute for getting points ourselves and the next two matches at home to Aldershot and away to Tamworth will show if we are actually good enough to live with the other contenders for a play-off position. I hope we can give a good account of ourselves and will still be in the race by the difficult game at York on the 31st March.

Another good result for us tonight with Halifax holding Oxford to a 1-1 draw.

If everyone had played 39 games & had won all their additional games, there would be just 4 points between Oxford (who would still be 2nd) and ourselves (who would still be 8th)

Morecambe would be 5th with 68 points, just 2 points ahead of us.

Of course, we're not all going to win all our games in hand, so this wont happen, but it demonstrates how tight everything is.

Daggers now need just 11 points from their last 8 games to secure the title, so its all but certain they will be playing for the fun of it against us on the last day. Lets hope we're still in there fighting as it will be a carnival atmosphere, which could also see us celebrating. I am guessing it will almost certainly be All Ticket.

Daggers also play Oxford next week so could do the rest of us another favour.

Sadly I don't hold out too much hope for a win at Tamworth, firstly because (I believe) we haven't won there in the Conference, secondly because we have a poor record in the Midlands in general (Kiddie aside) and thirdly because we lose the games we should win on paper.

We have, however, been very lucky this season, lucky against Wimbledon, Halifax and a few other times. We have been lucky when we have lost and rivals results have also been in our favour.

No one except D & R are running away with the league. There is still a huge amount to play for, and every team from 11th (Aldershot) upwards is in with a play off shout, provided they can string a good set of results together.

Yes, we have had a blip, a big one, but we are still in the hunt.

If we can continue with our good fortune, I for one would not rule out a play off place.

We won 3-1 in their first year in the Conference when Denis Oli made his debut for us. Our goals were scored by Perkins (2) and Drury

that must be the one game bernard and I have missed at Tamworth, cos I was thinking along the same lines as him. Since that win its been the worst game of the season in my opinion. Either dodgy officiating, or with us and Tamworth deciding to play a standard of football that wouldn't be seen even 2 levels below us...

4 points behind a play off spot, with a game in hand.

As I said, our luck is still in, some good results for us this afternoon, we are still not out of the race.

Lucky against Wimbledon? Remember we actually lost this game and didn't actually score a goal. How is the administrative error that put us back in the Trophy "luck" that will help us with the run in to the end of the season?

Lucky against Halifax? So are you expecting another Act of God to intervene and earn us another game in the run in? We still had most of the second half to play before the match was rightly abandoned and were looking good for at least an equaliser at that stage.
