AFC Wimbledon and the NLP

AFC's appeal looks like it is likely to fail looking at the Alan Turvey interview in the Non-league paper. Turvey has had threats made to him over the issue. Although not wanting to comment too much about it he does say,

"We are the guardian of the league and have to apply the rules as they are. We might not like them, but every rule in the handbook has been agreed by the clubs".

I think that sums it up. I think that things may change to make it easier for clubs next season, but I can't see anything changing the FA's mind for the Dons.

Or, better still, the appeal, even if/when it fails, convinces the authorities to put forward proposals to change the rules, so clubs aren't punished in such a draconian manner for such relatively minor indiscretions again.

strong rumours that it will be amended to 9 point deduction and 9 points suspended-thus it still is an 18 point deduction,AFC are back in it;everyone keeps face, and rules allow for that to be done !!

oh dear !!

So, if that happens, can we have 5 of our points back from when we went into administration then please?!! Could do with them just now...

A good point.

I'm not saying AFC Wimbledon should win their appeal - while the rule's still in place, it has to be enforced. But hopefully this appeal process will set in motion a change in the rules.

And yet another signing by AFC since earlier post today.

Now signed Ryan Peters who has played in conference this season.

Thats 4 signings in 5 days i think.

They are either mad, or know something !!

Equally, whilst one or two new players definately adds an edge and refreshes things, i would have thought that even allowing for one being a goalie, 4 new players would unsettle a side
